Amile Jefferson: When and Where Coveted Recruit Is Expected to Announce Decision

Amile Jefferson has finally decided to end all of the speculation and drama surrounding his decision on where to play college basketball.

According to SNY.tv (h/t Adam Zagoria), the top recruit told his former coach that he would make his decision public on Tuesday, May 15 at 4 p.m. ET. The announcement will take place at Philadelphia-based Friends' Central School.

Jefferson is one of the top available players in the Class of 2012. He's a 6'8", 200-pound forward who has offers from a ton of schools and is seriously considering N.C. State, Duke, Kentucky, Villanova and Ohio State—according to Zagoria.

Considering that the NCAA mandates recruits sign by Wednesday, Jefferson had to make a selection sooner than later.

"The process has been long and tough, for sure," Jefferson told Rick O'Brien at The Philadelphia Inquirer. "But it's time for me to make a decision. I have to do it."

When asked if he was leaning toward any particular school, Jefferson was hesitant to respond.

"I'm still looking at all the schools on my list," he said.

Jefferson just seemed excited to finally be able to announce his choice to the world, saying, "I'm ready for a great weight to be lifted off me. I'm excited about putting this decision behind me, getting ready for my freshman year in college, and helping my team do well."
