WWE Raw Preview: Triple H to Return, John Cena and More

Kyle SchadlerJun 7, 2018

It’s Monday again and that means the return of WWE Monday Night Raw!

As the summer approaches, things are starting to heat up. WWE has only confirmed a return for this week’s show as of this writing but there is plenty to consider as Over the Limit approaches.

Don’t Cross the Boss: Has the Big Show Become a Humbled Giant?

Monday Night RAW

Last week on Raw, general manager John Laurinaitis declared that anyone making fun of his voice would be punished. The first superstar to test that was the Big Show.

After Laurinaitis bumped into the World’s Largest Athlete and yelled at him, Big Show imitated Big Johnny as he walked away. As soon as he turned around, Laurinaitis’ executive administrator Eve was standing there.

He was forced to apologize in front of the live audience, but then laughed at the jokes made by two USA Network stars.

This past Friday on SmackDown, Big Show was forced to apologize again in front of the audience. Laurinaitis didn’t believe him and wanted a real apology on Raw.

Will John Laurinaitis get his apology? Will anyone come to the aid of the Big Show? Are other superstars at risk of feeling Laurinaitis’ wrath?

A Wounded Warrior: Will John Cena Appear?

At Extreme Rules, John Cena pulled an upset victory over Brock Lesnar. Despite Lesnar bringing his A-game and dismantling Cena, the face of the WWE ended up victorious.

Furious at the result, Laurinaitis set out to punish Cena. On the Raw after the pay-per-view, Big Johnny teased Cena’s Over the Limit opponent as Lord Tensai. Johnny Ace then blindsided Cena and declared that he was his opponent.

He and Tensai then proceeded to sandwich Cena's injured arm between the steel steps and a steel chair.

Last week, Cena revealed that doctors told him not to wrestle for a few months, but he was still taking this golden opportunity to take out John Laurinaitis.

Will John Cena be live on Raw or will he appear via satellite again? If he does appear in the ring, what will he do to Laurinaitis just days before the PPV?

The Quest for Gold: What’s Next for CM Punk and Daniel Bryan?

With CM Punk done with Chris Jericho, the champion needed a new challenger. That problem was solved two weeks ago with a Beat the Clock Challenge.

The time was set a few times during the challenge but it was shattered in the final match. When Daniel Bryan took out Jerry Lawler in about two minutes, the former world champion became the No. 1 contender for Punk’s WWE Championship.

With the main event set with Punk vs. Lord Tensai last week, Bryan looked to be just scouting his future opponent. Then John Laurinaitis announced a change to the match, adding Bryan to the side of Tensai.

Now a handicap match, Punk put up a good fight but the combination of Bryan and Tensai proved too much. After Tensai got the pin, Bryan decided to add insult to injury by applying the Yes Lock.

What will happen between the champion and his challenger this week? Will CM Punk gain some revenge or can Daniel Bryan keep the momentum going?

The Game Returns: How Will He Address the Brock Lesnar Situation?

Before Extreme Rules, Brock Lesnar forced John Laurinaitis to sign off on some ridiculous changes. Some of them included flying in the corporate jet and renaming Raw to “WWE Raw SuperShow Starring Brock Lesnar.”

After his loss to John Cena at the PPV, Lesnar was already a short fuse. Triple H returned to tell Lesnar that the changes to his contract were being denied due to Laurinaitis not going through him or the board of directors first.

Lesnar snapped and eventually broke WWE’s chief operating officer’s arm with the Kimura Lock.

Last week Paul Heyman made his WWE return as the representative of Lesnar, and declared that Lesnar was quitting WWE due to his demands being denied despite a verbal agreement.

This week, Triple H makes his return and will no doubt be addressing the situation.

Will Brock Lesnar be punished since he was an employee at the time of the attack? Does Triple H have a plan that will bring Lesnar back?

With this being the go-home episode of Monday Night Raw before Over the Limit, this could be a hell of a show.

Will it be? Tune in to find out!
