Texas Football: A Quick Look at Some of Texas' Big Recruiting Commitments

Michael FelderMay 11, 2012

Recruiting is the lifeblood of college football and while teams are wrapping up spring ball and looking to fall camp, they are also preparing for 2013 in the recruiting game.

We have summer camps, 7 on 7 tournaments and big combines coming up that will play a huge role in kids making college decisions and teams deciding who they are going to offer.

While the nation's No. 1 recruit, Robert Nkemdiche, has pushed his decision, there are plenty of other players out there who have pledged their allegiance early.

Texas, a school that has seen Mack Brown truly rev up recruiting during his tenure, has 14 young men in the boat right now. They have some big offensive linemen, some key pieces on defense and of course the skill positions, are being flushed out.

I got the time to work with our recruiting folks at Full Ride to break down some of the big commitments from this Texas class.

There is plenty to get excited about with these four kids who have committed to the Longhorns. Tyrone Swoopes is a big prospect at the quarterback spot and a guy who could give the offense the signal caller they are looking for.

Ricky Seals-Jones is an athlete who could play receiver, safety or bulk up and still be comfortable at the linebacker spot. In Jake Oliver, Texas has found a kid who already looks the part from a polished and technical standpoint.

Jacorey Warrick is a dynamic burner at the wide receiver spot who should provide a spark when he gets on the field.

We will keep the recruiting info coming for you folks and to get more video be sure to follow
