London 2012: Your Guide to Snagging Tickets to This Summer's Biggest Show

Wrestling. Beach volleyball. Canoe slalom.

Every sporting event you've always wanted to see but never knew you wanted to see will be right under your nose this summer at the Olympic Games in London. Or maybe not right under your nose, for those of you residing in North America.

But in case you happen to be making a pit stop in England in July, here's everything you need to know about scoring tickets to the 2012 Olympic festivities.

Where to By Tickets

All tickets are available at www.tickets.london2012.com, the official ticketing provider for the London 2012 Olympic Games. 

When Tickets Go On Sale

The first opportunity to score tickets has already come and gone, but there are still plenty of ways to gain admittance before the action begins on July 27.

From May 11 to May 13, 20,000 applicants will get exclusive access to as many as four tickets to a single event. The schedule of events is listed below.

On May 17, 70,000 general tickets for Olympic Park will become available.

On May 23, all unsold Olympic tickets will become available.

When to Buy Tickets for Specific Events

From May 13 to May 17, tickets for specific events will become available on designated days. One million applicants will have a chance to purchase tickets.

If you want to know when you might have a chance to score passes to hockey, fencing, basketball or anything else, check out this ticket sales schedule, courtesy of The Mirror:

May 13: Hockey, tennis, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, beach volleyball, football

May 14: Race walk athletics, marathon athletics, canoe slalom, canoe sprint, shooting, swimming, volleyball, weightlifting, track cycling

May 15: Dressage equestrian, eventing equestrian, jumping equestrian, diving, synchronized swimming, handball, table tennis, marathon swimming, water polo

May 16: Basketball (at the North Greenwich Arena), badminton, sailing, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics, judo, taekwondo, boxing, fencing

May 17: Archery, basketball (the Basketball Arena sessions), BMX cycling, mountain bike cycling, road cycling, modern pentathlon, rowing, triathlon, Olympic Park tickets

May 21: Paralympic tickets go back on sale.

Tickets to Additional Events

On May 29, tickets to a variety of new events will become available. (One US dollar is the equivalent of 0.6207 British pounds).

Events include:

Cycling road tickets. For the viewing area at Donkey Green, tickets will be sold at 15 pounds for adults and 5 pounds for children and seniors. For the viewing area at Dormouse Drive, tickets are 10 pounds for adults and 5 pounds for children and seniors.

Wimbledon. 10 pounds for adults and 5 pounds for children and seniors.

The Orbit. 15 pounds for adults and 7 pounds for children and seniors.
