Tim Tebow Changes Dog's Name from Bronco to Bronx
May 10, 2012
Tim Tebow saw fit to make his poor dog's life all the more difficult as he changed it's name from Bronco to Bronx.
The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports via Twitter on the biggest news from camp Tebow at the moment. I am sure that after this Tweet, Mehta called Mr. and Mrs. Mehta to proclaim that he had truly made it in the reporting business.

Oh, yeah. It's May and we are in a full Tim Tebow news cycle that can best be described as unrelenting. Even the naming of his pooch classifies as reason to stop whatever you are doing and care, at least for a couple seconds.
Let's break down this story into the barest of essentials. We could really spend the better part of four years at University on this stuff, but we will be brief.
The Naming of One's Dog

Listen up people, naming your dog is serious business and you just don't go traipsing into it with the nonchalance and bravado of Pablo Sandoval at a Panda Express.
Teaching your dog to respond to a specific name takes work. Don't go messing with a brain that is already occupied with where to eat, where to poop, and how to work that all into a busy day of napping.
Like tattoos, a dog's name should be a permanent fixture. You will have to live with the name like an ESPN etched on your face.
The once third-string QB named his dog Bronco, and that is the first issue. Something tells me he will have to name his dog Jacksonville in a year or two.
The second is that the team plays in New Jersey, hardly the Bronx. Why not name him Manhattan, Staten Island or Shake Shack, all perfectly viable options?
Proper Names

This brings us to the names that would have been far better than the ill-advised Bronx.
Mark Sanchez: Let's start it off with the winner of the day, and it comes from Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch.
How great would it be if Tim Tebow named his dog Mark Sanchez?

Rex: A good solid dog name. Any canine worth his salt would be proud to have it.
Skip: I figure the real Skip Bayless is busy following around Tebow, why not name the dog after him.
