5 Players Liverpool Should Sell This Summer

Patrick BrittonJun 7, 2018

Sitting at 8th place with a game remaining, there is a lot Liverpool needs to improve upon if they plan on making Champions League next season. Here are four players that will be sold in hopes of a brighter season in 2012-13.

Please feel free to comment on the players you think should be sold this summer.

Dirk Kuyt

1 of 5

Despite scoring 13 goals in 2010-11, Kuyt has not played much this year, as Kenny Dalglish has kept him out of the lineup to make room for his new signings. Kuyt has only played 90 minutes 10 times in the league, and he was kept out of the FA Cup semifinal against rival Everton. He only has five goals to his name this year and should be sold at season’s end.

Maxi Rodriguez

2 of 5

After scoring two hat tricks in April last spring, many Liverpool supporters expected Maxi Rodriguez to get a lot of playing time in 2011-12. With the additions of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, Maxi has seen the pitch very seldom this year. Expect him to be sold this summer.

Charlie Adam

3 of 5

Out for the remainder of the season, Adam had been a disappointment even before he damaged his right knee. After being brought in from Blackpool, a lot was expected from the 26-year-old this year, and he has failed to live up to his potential.

Fabio Aurelio

4 of 5

With the emergence of Jose Enrique at left-back, don’t expect Liverpool to keep Aurelio for next season. Having been injured for most of his career, the 32-year-old has only played two games for Liverpool this year. It would be beneficial for both parties if he parted ways this summer.

Joe Cole

5 of 5

Cole is currently on loan from Liverpool and playing for Lille OSC. The 30-year-old has four goals this season to go along with two assists. Expect the midfielder to part ways with Liverpool for good this summer. After joining Liverpool from Chelsea on a free transfer, Cole has done little to show he belongs with the Reds next year.
