Jeff Fisher Opens First Rams Rookie Mini Camp Friday

Jim Thomas, Bryan Burwell and Jeff Gordon share their thoughts in the above-linked piece.

The rookie minicamp will give Fisher a chance to see the team's draft picks and undrafted rookie free agents in their first official on-field NFL action.

Rams Add 23 Rookie Free Agents

The St. Louis Rams have officially added 23 rookie free agents, according to this piece by senior writer Nick Wagoner of StLouisRams.com.

Wagoner details several of the players, including fullback Todd Anderson and quarterback Austin Davis.

One rookie free agent that I am intrigued to see is LSU tight end DeAngelo Peterson. I think Peterson has some good ability, which I touched on here.

Of the 23 rookies, it is no surprise that four are linebackers, three are offensive lineman and three are safeties.

The Rams could still stand to add an outside linebacker and left guard, as well as another safety for depth.

Rookie Profiles: Trumaine Johnson and Chris Givens

Nick Wagoner put together terrific player profiles on third-round cornerback Trumaine Johnson and fourth-round wideout Chris Givens on StLouisRams.com, found here.

Wagoner expects Johnson to compete for a starting spot, and feels Given's speed and versatility should help him contribute to the Rams receiving corp. as a rookie.

Bradford Reportedly Knew Very Early that He Would Remain With St. Louis

Sam Bradford told the NFL Network that the Rams informed early in the offseason that he was going to be the guy for Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead going forward:

"

"Pretty much from the beginning, they told me that I was their guy and that I had no reason to worry about them taking a quarterback in this draft."

Bryan Burwell Defends Kurt Warner

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell defended Kurt Warner's recent remarks regarding his desire to keep his children from playing football due to potential health and safety risks.

Warner later adjusted his comments, as you can read here.

Warner's remarks have been controversial, and other former players have spoken in opposition to his comments, such as former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Merril Hoge, who did so here.

However, Burwell gives Warner credit for sharing his honest assessment from a parental vantage point and feels an honest debate on NFL and football player safety should be welcomed.

Former Rams Guard Jacob Bell Decides to Retire

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as shared by Ron Clements of CbsSports.com here, former Rams left guard Jacob Bell has decided to retire at the early age of 31.

In the aforementioned report, Bell cites personal reasons as contributing to his decision to hang up the cleats for the final time.

Have a great day as always, STL Rams Nation.
