WWE News: Paul Heyman's Return as Brock Lesnar's Mouthpiece Is Great Move

Jun 4, 2018

Monday Night Raw was a wild show, but nothing caught the attention of the fans at home more than watching legendary promoter and manager Paul Heyman return to the WWE.

While many younger fans may not remember Heyman, this was the man that turned ECW into a national phenomenon and was the manager for the up-and-coming Lesnar during his first stint in WWE.

Lesnar's recent struggles on the mic proved that he can't continue to carry his own promos without some help. We can’t forget that it was during the Lesnar contract signing that he fumbled and bumbled his way through a segment where all of his lines were written on papers in front of him.

Paul Heyman will make sure that the next year of Lesnar will not only be tolerable—it will be exciting.

What It Means

The WWE signed Brock Lesnar with no intention of using him every week. The contract says a certain number of dates he has to work over the next few months, so the company will not waste them all when they will need every date he can appear during the road to WrestleMania 29.

A contract dispute and subsequent threats of a lawsuit may be enough to get Lesnar off TV any time the company needs him to take a week or two off. In Lesnar’s absence, Heyman may be the only man the fans will accept as a speaker on his behalf.

There are serious questions about Heyman’s long-term situation with the company, but bringing the veteran voice on board for the remainder of Lesnar’s stay in the WWE would be the best move for all parties involved.

What’s Next?

The hope from all parties here is that Heyman is the long-term solution to Brock Lesnar’s lack of mic skills. While Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman had their troubles in the past, VKM knows how much this addition could mean.

Lesnar’s limited dates means that screwups like the ones that riddled the contract signing segment can’t happen. As we saw on Monday’s Raw, there are very few people in the WWE that can work the mic like Heyman.

While there were serious fears that Lesnar’s return would grow stale over the course of his year contract, the reemergence of Paul E. Dangerously is exactly what the WWE needed to get fans excited again.
