Miami Heat vs. Knicks Game 5: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info and More

Randy ChambersJun 7, 2018

New York somehow managed to win Game 4 of the playoffs against the Miami Heat and avoid getting swept on their home court. Now the series moves back to Miami as the Heat will once again try to end this series and move on to the next round of the playoffs.

New York won their first postseason game in 13 tries and will look to send this one back to Madison Square Garden with a victory in Miami. The Knicks were hoping to get point guard Jeremy Lin back for the series, but it looks like he'll continue to ride the bench for the rest of the season.

Miami: No injuries reported.

What's at Stake?

Much like Game 4 of this series: Knicks win, the series continues; they lose, well, Miami moves on and plays the Indiana Pacers.

This is once again a do-or-die game for the New York Knicks.

What They're Saying

Dwyane Wade says that his team will be fine despite the loss and should be able to bounce back in Game 5 with a much better performance. (Via ESPN)

"

"We'd love to take the week (off) but it's not in the cards for us to do that in this round," Wade said. "You know, we'll adjust. We play Wednesday in Miami at 7 o'clock. We'll be ready to play and give our fans another exciting game."

"

Amar'e Stoudemire was really excited for his Knicks team after the Game 4 victory and says New York fans should get used to these winning ways in the future.

"

"I think it's the first of many," said Stoudemire. "Tonight was a great win for us, for our fans to finally get over that hump of those consecutive games that we lost, I guess the Knicks, lost over those years in the playoffs."

"

Most Important Player to Watch: Knicks PF Amar'e Stoudemire

Who would have ever thought Stoudemire would have cut his hand, played the game with this enormous pad on and dropped his first double-double since April 22? Maybe he should injure himself more often if he's going to play that great.

Seriously though, Stoudemire hasn't been himself all season long, but in Game 4, he really showed some of the old player we all remember from those Phoenix days. If he can grab double-digit rebounds again and score 20-plus in this game, the Knicks will surely have a chance to win another playoff game and bring it back to Madison Square Garden.

Key Matchup: Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas vs. Mario Chalmers

This really isn't about a matchup, but more about how much production are the Knicks going to get out of their point guards. Davis is done for probably the next 12 months, and Lin has been ruled out for the entire series.

That leaves it up to a 33-year-old player in Bibby and a third-year player in Douglas. Bibby is capable of getting hot from beyond the arc, but likely won't be capable of playing 30-plus minutes against a much younger and more athletic Heat defense.

That leaves things up to Douglas, who hasn't played at all in this series and only has 29 combined minutes in the last 11 games.

Douglas is capable of playing well, but is still a young player who makes bad decisions with the ball at times. The good news is that in the only game he played against the Heat, he scored 16 points and had five assists. If the Knicks can get that from the 26-year-old, they'll be in great shape.

Prediction

I know the Knicks are feeling really confident now that they're fresh off a playoff victory, but you have to assume this is where it comes to an end.

What are the chances the Heat shoot 15 percent again from beyond the arc with open looks? Will Stoudemire really play that great again? Can Carmelo Anthony continue to score 40 points?

We saw this Miami team struggle to finish games last year and, at times, play uninspired basketball. You have to believe they'll wake up at home and take care of business as they move on to the next round of the playoffs.

Heat win, 97-91.
