NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Predictions

Is it too early to start predicting who you think the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year will be? We say it’s never too early. 

If you are a quarterback, the chances increase greatly that you’ll win top rookie honors. If you’re a wide receiver … not so much.  In the past ten years, five QB’s have won the award, three running backs and only two wide receivers.  Does winning the award automatically guarantee you success in your career? Perhaps.  Such players in the past ten years have gone on to have successful careers after winning top rookie honors: Ben Roethlisberger (2004), Adrian Peterson (2007), and Matt Ryan (2008). The verdict is out on such players as “Cadillac”Williams (2005), Percy Harvin (2009) or Sam Bradford (2010). It seems like last year’s top rookie, Cam Newton, is well on his way to having a great NFL career.
