WWE: 7 Reasons Why Daniel Bryan Is Officially Here to Stay
Daniel Bryan's meteoric rise to the top of WWE did not come easy. Bryan traveled the world, honing his skills in the various promotions which would allow him to become one of the best wrestlers today.
When Bryan first showed up in the WWE he was a part of the inaugural season of NXT under his pro, The Miz.
While on NXT Bryan had a long losing streak but managed to remain one of the top "rookies" on the show due to his talent and the respect the judges had for him.
Once he returned from a short release he was not pushed right away. For many months it seemed like Bryan would end up as a talented jobber to bigger stars until he won the Money in the Bank match.
The night he cashed it in on Big Show was the night everything changed for Daniel Bryan. Now he is firmly cemented in WWE's main event scene and he has been involved in a World Title match at several PPVs in a row.
In this slideshow I will take a look at seven reasons why Daniel Bryan is someone who is here to stay.
YES YES YES
1 of 7Not since "What" has a single syllable word meant so much to the WWE universe.
When Daniel won the World title he ran around the ring screaming "World Heavyweight Champion, Yes Yes Yes."
As his heel turn began he used the celebration as a way to gain heat by acting like he had just won the world title every time he came through the curtain.
Eventually the WWE universe started to become Bryan fans despite his heel persona and soon Yes became a nightly chant from the crowd.
Yes signs and shirts litter every crowd and whenever he speaks or comes to the ring most of the audience is chanting Yes right along with him.
Actual Wrestling Skills
2 of 7Wrestling is a tricky field to be in because it is not always the person with the most skill being pushed to the top.
Luckily for Bryan he is more than just a technician, but it is his ability to perform in the ring that pushed him to the top more than his mic skills.
By combining powerful strikes, submission holds, mat-based techniques and high flying moves Bryan has proven that he is one of the most versatile wrestlers in the world.
When someone Bryan's size is not always looked at as an underdog it means they are way above average in their skill, and that is Daniel Bryan.
Fan Support as a Heel
3 of 7Heels are not supposed to be cheered but Bryan has managed to have more positive reactions than negative in recent months.
Randy Orton had a similar problem a few years ago. He was supposed to be this vicious heel and he was getting bigger pops than John Cena.
When a heel is cheered more than booed it usually indicates that they are doing something right because the WWE fans cheer for whoever they want, not who they are told to.
Being Involved in Both World Title Scenes
4 of 7Not often do people compete for both titles in as short a time frame as Daniel Bryan, but he just lost the World title at WrestleMania and now he is competing for the WWE Championship.
Having the kind of popularity Bryan has allows him to jump from show to show and title to title whenever WWE needs him to because the fans will always want to see him.
Guys like Daniel Bryan are usually over looked when it comes to World Title matches, but Bryan has been in more over the last six months than almost anyone else in WWE.
The Support of His Fellow Wrestlers
5 of 7When was the last time you heard anything negative about Daniel Bryan? The answer is probably not in a long time, if ever.
Bryan lives a clean life and is experienced enough to be able to get on the good side of everyone in the locker room.
Bryan's first goal after entertaining the fans is to make sure his opponent looks good and is taken care of and no one makes other people look as good as Daniel Bryan.
When you have the respect of your peers it makes your career a lot better in WWE.
Small Guys Get Underdog Support
6 of 7Being small usually means you are the underdog, and even thought Bryan is not often billed as the underdog many fans may view him that way due to his size.
He is under six feet tall and right around the 200 pound mark, making him one of the smallest wrestlers on the whole roster.
When someone can perform at the level Bryan performs at then they can usually be considered as someone who has worked past the underdog title, but Bryan will always have one disadvantage against most of his opponents and that will give him the underdog support from the fans.
The Complete Package
7 of 7Bryan uses power moves, submissions, strikes, high flying offense and ground-and-pound offense. Not many wrestlers have the same type of proverbial toolbox Bryan has.
I can think of only a few wrestler who combine the entire spectrum of wrestling techniques the way Bryan has and most of those names are already in the Hall of Fame.
When Bryan first showed up in WWE many of the more casual fans did not know what to make of him, but anyone who was familiar with his Indy work knew he was something special.
Bryan is the total package and WWE finally realized that and started using Bryan the way he deserves to be used, as a main-eventer.
