Kentucky Derby 2012 Post Positions: How Post Positions Shake Up Odds
The 2012 Kentucky Derby is only hours away and the odds have changed a bit since the post positions were announced earlier this week.
According to Weather.com, there is a small chance of thunderstorms throughout the afternoon, but hopefully the race is able to be run smoothly.
Post positions are important because some horses do better in certain starting spots, for whatever reasons. A bad start out of the block can ruin your chances, while a great start can give you a great shot to win.

Favorite to Watch: Bodemeister
Bodemeister has been the favorite through most of the week, but Union Rags currently has the best odds to win the race at 6-1.
Bodemeister, a horse trained by Bob Baffert, is 8-1 to win and the horse that most people will choose on Saturday.
Underdog to Watch: Sabercat
Sabercat has 38-1 odds and could be an underdog who steals the show at Churchill Downs and takes the crown.
Three of Sabercat's last five races have been victories, so with some recent success, you can have confidence going with this horse on Derby day.
Reliable Horse: Hansen
Hansen currently has 7-1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby and is one of the best trained horses in the entire field.
This horse has raced six times since September of 2011 and has never finished lower than second, capturing four victories and three runner-up finishes.
