5 NBA Playoff Commercials We're Already Sick Of

As much as I love the NBA playoffs, some of the commercials advertising them get downright irritating.  Sure, there's a need to hype up some games, but the whole "players are awesome, everything is on the line" approach gets old after the first 50 times.

From autotuning to spotlighting certain star players, some playoff commercials are becoming more annoying than the obligatory ones shown before previews at the movie theater, and something needs to change ASAP.  Here are five particular ads that have me ready to put an ax through the TV.

Commercial ADD

OK, what am I supposed to be watching during this commercial?  The awesome plays in the background, or the words flashing in front of me at light speed?  Either way, I'm sick of trying to decide, so take it out of the rotation!

Closeups in Shadows

Look, I get it.  These commercials are intense at first, but the way they're shot is just way too cliche.  The whole closeup in dark lighting has been done before, and has just lost its luster (or lack thereof).

Kevin "Kitsch" Durant

I love KD, but he's sold out with this commercial.  Does he really need to be up in the rafters?  The ad would carry a lot more weight if he wasn't shown until the very end, and on the court at that.

Pierce Scares Us All

I don't get why ESPN chose to film various players in the playoffs up in the rafters of their home arenas.  This one I'm particularly sick of because, to be honest, it scares the living hell out of me.

Is it just me, or does Pierce look too comfortable all the way up there?  His tone and expression at the camera are just a wee bit too casual.

Autotuning

Autotuning is kind of cool and has its place in some areas.  Unfortunately, NBA playoff commercials are not one of them.
