Miguel Cabrera: MLB Fan Cave Shows Bright Future as Telenovela Star

Ian CasselberryJun 7, 2018

If this baseball thing doesn't work out for Miguel Cabrera, he may have a very bright future as a telenovela star.

The Detroit Tigers didn't just play the New York Yankees while they visited the Bronx last weekend. They also toured Manhattan, with a few of the players stopping by the MLB Fan Cave studios.

It was there that Cabrera (or should we say, "Miggy Poco") and teammate Collin Balestar showed talents that span beyond the baseball field.

And you thought Cabrera was simply a great hitter. The man has some dramatic acting chops.

The story has everything necessary for a compelling narrative. Love and heartbreak. Suspense and danger. Beautiful women and handsome men. Shirtless fat guys running. And terrible Jim Leyland impersonations.

It's all just that much more riveting when filmed in soft focus.

Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but when the Tigers traded Ryan Perry for Balestar, the thought did cross my mind that he was a very handsome man.

I didn't necessarily think "soap opera star handsome," but my thoughts just don't often go there. Maybe they should from now on.

But if you take one thing away from this post (and you really probably shouldn't, other than Balestar's leading man looks), remember that Miggy Poco is always watching.

For a far more genuine and touching video, please check out Justin Verlander's meeting with his 11-year old fan, Shayna Hersh.
