Kentucky Derby Odds: Top Horses to Take a Chance on

Hey, it's race day and everyone is looking for a little extra bang for their buck.

The favorites don't have very favorable prices, but they've been the favorites all the way through and bettors weren't put off by the post positions they drew either.

The Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs has a way of knocking down favorites though, and there are a number of capable race winners in today's field.

As for which ones are worth your money, let's take a look.

I'll Have Another

Running from the 19th post, this colt doesn't seem like a natural draw, but he offers a favorable price.

The race will open up in front of him and he'll be able to gauge his chances from there.

It won't be surprising at all if he fights his way into the money by the time they cross the wire.

Trinniberg

His price should continue to rise because everyone and their mother will have heard that he's going to set a ridiculous pace before faltering late in the race. But what if Willie Martinez finds a way to harness his speed and keep him near the top for longer than anticipated?

At the price he's offering it wouldn't be wild to throw him into a trifecta box or superfecta box throwaway bet.

Sabercat

The opposite of of Trinniberg, Sabercat will save his legs and lungs for late in the race. He's coming from very far out wide, but if Trinniberg sets too fast of a pace early then we can expect the closers to creep up and all finish close to, if not in, the money.

For the price he's offering, it wouldn't hurt to add him into a box either.

Take Charge Indy

With Calvin Borel riding, this guy has a legitimate shot to win. We'll likely see his price drop as the race nears and people get hip to the fact that Borel loves being on the inside here at Churchill Downs, so get him as early as possible.

It won't hurt to have in a box or even as winner.
