WWE Extreme Rules 2012 Results: Miz Deserves Better Than Loss to Santino
The Miz doesn't deserve to lose straight-up to Santino—ever. Don't get me wrong, I love Santino's character—but this is like comparing Kimbo Slice to Junior dos Santos. One is entertaining, the other has substance and real value.
Santino does have some in-ring ability, but that is not what has his popularity so high. He is a comedy act, and I totally admit—he's funny. But this was for a championship. Doesn't that matter anymore?
Santino deserved to have his moments. But in the end, he should have come out on the losing end, in a Skull-Crushing Finale.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
We are talking about a guy in The Miz that once headlined WrestleMania. His skills have not eroded and I don't see a huge drop in his popularity.
In fact, he's set to star in the sure-to-suck, third installment of The Marine. I understand this could be leading up to an absence from WWE programming to allow The Miz to film the movie.
But couldn't this have been done in a less humiliating way?
All this does is highlight just how far The Miz has fallen in stature in the WWE ranks. Most would admit, Santino's ceiling is not that high.
Comedy acts can only go so far. They will generally never headline a major pay-per-view. The Miz was already there.
With his minuscule role at WrestleMania and this debacle at Extreme Rules, his career is at an all-time low.
Hopefully, The Miz will return from his stint as the third Marine with a new push—he deserves it.
