College Football Recruiting 2013: Updates on This Year's Top Prospects

Sam RichmondJun 7, 2018

The buzz on college football's top recruits for 2013 is heating up!

Whether they are announcing decision dates, backtracking on dates or narrowing their list of schools, much is going on with the players who will shape the college football landscape for years to come.

Here's what's new with five of the top prospects in the nation.

Robert Nkemdiche: DE

1 of 5

Robert Nkemdiche, a 6'5", 265-pound defensive end from Loganville, Ga., is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2013 class as rated by ESPN and Rivals.

With a rare combination of elite strength and explosiveness, Nkemdiche recorded a whopping 38 sacks combined in the past two seasons.

Exactly where all that talent will head to is still very much up in the air, though. In March, he announced that he would commit to a university on May 18, but has since said he might not be ready by then.

His current list consists of Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Clemson, LSU and newly-added Mississippi State.

At this point, there doesn't appear to be a sole front-runner.

Laremy Tunsil: OL

Laremy Tunsil is the consensus top OL of the 2013  class.

The allure of the 6'6", 295-pound tackle from Lake City, Fla., is his quickness and pure strength.

For quite some time, Tunsil's true top-five schools were unknown; however, in April, he revealed them to ESPN.

"

"My top five as it stands is Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, LSU and Alabama," Tunsil said. "I like their playbooks, the offense will allow me to pull and have my hand in the ground.

"I've gotten to know the coaching staffs and build close relationships with them."

"

Tunsil also added that he will announce his decision on National Signing Day 2013.

Kendall Fuller: DB

Kendall Fuller is ranked as the No. 1 DB and No. 4 overall prospect by Rivals.

The 5'11", 189-pound Fuller was described by ESPN as possessing "the size, athleticism and coverage savvy that is rare in a high school cornerback prospect."

He has recently stated his top schools are Clemson, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan, Maryland and Alabama.

Fuller also revealed he will make his decision no later than the Army All-American game next January.

Su'a Cravens: S

4 of 5

Safety Su'a Cravens is Rivals' No. 5 overall prospect.

Because of his great speed, strength and smarts, he is also regarded as one of the more well-rounded players in the 2013 class.

The 6'1", 205-pound prospect had an incredible junior season at Vista Murrieta in Murrieta, Calif., on both sides of the ball, notching 100 tackles and also rushing for 15 touchdowns.

Many believe he will opt to stay in his home state of California by selecting either USC or UCLA.

Cravens has said he will announce his decision on June 6 because it's his mother's birthday.

Ty Isaac: RB

5 of 5

Ty Isaac is Rivals' No. 2 RB in the 2013 class.

Isaac, who ran for 516 yards in this past season's state championship game, is very well built at 6'2" and 215 pounds and possesses top-notch speed.

He has a laundry list of teams vying for his services, but Isaac has recently made clear he's in no rush to make a decision.

"

"I have no timetable," he said. "I will wait until it feels right. It could be tomorrow or Feb. 2 when I get a gut feeling, when the light bulb goes on. I haven't narrowed my list. Sometimes circumstances change. I don't want to rule out anyone. It's still early. It's April. I have until February."

"

Even though Isaac hasn't narrowed a list, ESPN speculates USC, Michigan, Auburn and Notre Dame are in the lead.
