Undrafted NFL Free Agents 2012: Big Names That Won't Make Rosters
Some big names weren't selected during the 2012 NFL draft, but just because you've heard of them doesn't mean they will end up sticking with the teams that signed them as free agents.
Here is a list of three big-name players who will end up being cut from the teams that added them before the season starts.
Case Keenum, QB, Houston Texans

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Keenum broke every meaningful record for a college quarterback at Houston, then went undrafted. There's a reason for that: He just doesn't have the physical skills necessary to translate that success to the NFL.
Though he was snapped up by the Houston Texans quickly after the draft, Keenum is unlikely to make the team's opening-day roster in 2012. With Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates already on the team, the best Keenum can hope for is a practice-squad spot.
At just under 6'1" and 208 pounds, Keenum is undersized and that clearly affected his durability during college.
Keenum doesn't possess adequate arm strength to make all the throws required of an NFL quarterback, and his accuracy leaves must to be desired. In addition to that, he has a low sidearm delivery that leaves his passes vulnerable to being knocked down at the line. Houston's scheme and the team's subpar competition disguised those deficiencies.
Keenum would have to improve a whole lot to even come close to making Houston's roster. I just don't think he has the physical ability to hang in the big leagues.
Vontaze Burfict, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
We all know about Burfict's problems. He fell from a sure first-round pick to completely undrafted in the span of just a few months. His attitude, personality, awful combine showing and a failed drug test all worked to send him all the way down the draft board.
Burfict now has a chance to prove himself with the Cincinnati Bengals, who picked him up as a free agent soon after the draft ended. However, Burfict has never shown discipline on or off the field, and I have a hard time believing that will change before training camp.
The Arizona State product reminds me of former Ohio State star Maurice Clarett, who always seemed to believe he could get by on talent alone. That won't work at the NFL level. The Bengals will be disappointed by Burfict quickly and won't have him on their opening-day roster.
I love Moore—heck, who doesn't love Kellen Moore? The simply fact is that, like Keenum, he just doesn't have the measureables an NFL quarterback must possess.
Moore is just over 5'11" and weighs 197 pounds. He his a smart kid with great intangibles. He led Boise State to 50 wins during his career and had a ridiculous 142-to-28 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Despite his advanced approach to the position, Moore has an extremely weak arm that his mind can't make up for. He has problems throwing deep balls and has a three-quarters release that, combined with his lack of height, really hurts his ability to get balls out without being tipped.
He throws a catchable ball and shows excellent anticipation when timing his passes, but when going downfield his balls flutter and float off line.
Moore was added to Detroit's roster after the draft, but it's going to be difficult for him to make the roster. The Lions already have Matthew Stafford and Shaun Hill filling out the depth chart, and Moore won't get any more than practice-squad consideration.
