UFC on FOX 3: Who's on the Hot Seat
UFC on Fox airs this weekend, with a number of exciting, important bouts taking place. The card will be headlined by lightweight contenders Nate Diaz and Jim Miller.
This card will be crucial for several fighters, as they may be fighting for their jobs. Let's take a look at the fighters who will be on the hot seat come this weekend.
Mike Massenzio
1 of 3Mike Massenzio finds himself on the verge of being cut by the UFC for the second time in his career. The middleweight from New Jersey is 1-2 since his return to the UFC, most recently falling by submission to Rousimar Palhares.
The only saving grace Massenzio may have is that his return fight was at light heavyweight and on short notice, which saved Krzysztof Soszynski's spot on UFC 131. That is a huge favor that must be considered should Massenzio lose to Karlos Vemola.
Karlos Vemola
2 of 3Speaking of Karlos Vemola, he is another guy who is on the hot seat. He is making his middleweight debut, so he is on the hot seat to make a safe, successful weight cut.
More than that, Vemola is 1-2 in two weight classes already. His bread and butter is wrestling, but he was out-wrestled in his outing against Ronny Markes. If Vemola cannot secure a victory here, he could be sent packing.
Dennis Bermudez
3 of 3Although he was a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter, Dennis Bermudez may be feeling the heat. The talented featherweight not only lost his UFC debut, but lost two fights in a row previous to his debut.
Should he lose this weekend, it will be his fourth loss in a row. Although only one of them came in the UFC, this loss may be enough to prompt his exit from the company.
