Boston Red Sox: Source Says 'Sox Calling Up Will Middlebrooks
The Boston Red Sox have finally made a move on top prospect third baseman Will Middlebrooks, according to Maureen Mullen of Comcast Sportsnet New England.
Mullen reports that Middlebrooks is on his way to Boston to either be activated or to be kept in the wings.
Earlier this morning, Alex Speier of WEEI reported that a move on Middlebrooks could occur as early as today, as Boston waits to hear more on regular third baseman Kevin Youkilis.

Youkilis has missed the last three games with a sore back and could end up on the 15-day DL retroactive to April 28, depending on an evaluation today.
Nick Punto has been filling the void at third base during Youkilis' absence, and Boston even called up shortstop Jose Iglesias yesterday just in case any other issues arose. Middlebrooks could have been called up over Iglesias, but an issue with his thumb prevented that.
With Youkilis struggling with injuries and at the plate—hitting .219/.292/.344 with two home runs, nine RBI and 20 strikeouts in 84 at-bats—it may be time for a more permanent move.
Middlebrooks has been unbelievable for Triple-A Pawtucket this season, hitting .333/.380/.677 with nine home runs, 27 RBI and 18 runs scored in 24 games this year.
