According to a press release from the executive producers of HBO, for the first time that not one, but two HBO channels will be devoted to a five-hour long roadblock of nothing but boxing leading up to the super-mega-fight showdown of Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto from 4:00-9:00 p.m. ET/1:00-6:00 p.m. PT.

In my opinion I think this is a great opportunity for HBO to promote the big super fight of Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto this Saturday. It is also a great chance for fight fans to catch up on anything they missed from "Face Off," to "Speaking Out" to all four "24/7 Mayweather/Cotto" episodes.

"Weigh-In Live," which will initially be televised live on Friday at 6:00PM ET/PT on HBO, usually will be the final push to influence most fight fans to give in and purchase the HBO pay-per-view on Saturday night. When you see how passionate and intense the energy is at these weigh-ins, you can not help but to be sucked into the hype of the fight. HBO 2 will re-air "Weigh-In Live" at 7:30PM ET/ 4:30PM PT.

Then the final fight promo program "Fight Day Now" will air just right before the actual HBO Pay-Per-View begins, and it will provide the latest news and insight with host Jim Lampley, who will be calling the actual fights that night.

It is also good to see that HBO will honor and respect the Cinco de Mayo holiday by including one of their fastest rising, phenomenal Mexican stars, with “Portrait of a Fighter: Canelo Alvarez” on HBO2 at  4:15 p.m. ET/1:15 p.m. PT.

Alvarez is fighting veteran boxing legend "Sugar" Shane Mosley as the co-main event on Mayweather vs. Cotto.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto is taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 5th. It can be seen live on HBO pay-per-view at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
