NBA Playoff Predictions 2012: Chicago Bulls Will Win Game 2 Without Derrick Rose
The Chicago Bulls (1-0) and Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) will continue their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series on Tuesday night at the United Center, with the opening tip scheduled for 8:00 ET on TNT.
Las Vegas oddsmakers have established the Bulls as 6.5-point home favorites despite the loss of starting point guard Derrick Rose for the remainder of the postseason, which is just two points lower than the closing line in their 103-91 victory in Game 1 on Saturday.
Chicago still possesses plenty of talent to advance into the next round, especially considering the franchise is 7-0 all-time in home playoff games against Philadelphia. The Bulls have also managed to win five of six games this year when playing on two days' rest.
Sports bettors will find that the Bulls are 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games as a home favorite of 5.0 to 10.5 points, while the "over" is 7-3 in that situation.
Philadelphia will need to up its offensive production in order to pull off an upset in Game 2, going over the century mark just twice over the past 11 meetings in this series. That's definitely a tall order when going against the NBA's best defensive unit.
The scoreboard is definitely going to tell the story of this series the rest of the way, with the 76ers dropping 12 of 13 games this year when allowing 100-plus points, while the Bulls are 23-0 when hitting or going over the century mark offensively.
Don't get too caught up in Rose's injury at the betting window, as the Sixers haven't played great basketball for months, posting a 15-22 record over their final 37 games of the regular season.
Prediction: Chicago Bulls 92, Philadelphia 76ers 85
