The Doctor's Weekly WWE Raw Recap: The 127 Things We Learned, Loved and Hated
Tonight's Raw did two things very well; closed out the feuds from Extreme Rules and created new ones heading into Over The Limit in three weeks. If you think it is odd that WWE will be having three PPVs in the span of seven weeks, you are not alone.
We found out that the WWE Championship will be defended by CM Punk against Daniel Bryan. I can already hear the Indy fans screaming "This match was better when only 40 people saw it."
John Cena found out he will be facing John Laurinaitis after the Raw and SmackDown GM attacked him with the help of Lord Tensai.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
I would say this is leading to JL getting fired for doing the same thing Triple H did when he was in power but Triple H had his arm "broken" by Brock Lesnar after he reversed all of Lesnar's contract changes.
We also got to see a title change hands tonight as Epico and Primo lost the belts to Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. After the match, they decided to hear out Abraham Washington about his proposal to help them.
The rest of the show featured various Beat the Clock matches which ended in Daniel Bryan defeating Jerry Lawler to win the title shot at OTL. The show was both entertaining and served the purpose of moving on from Extreme Rules and towards OTL, which has only three weeks to build.
I truly appreciate my loyal readers but for those of you who are new, each week I recap Raw with a long list.
The entries are made up of equal parts humor, recap, play-by-play, revelations, speculations, questions, answers and anything else I notice during the show. I sometimes
comment on commercials, too, just because I get bored during them.
I also feature games each week. This week will be sign of the night, inspired by the Dean Ambrose sign I saw in the first few rows of the crowd tonight. I am having trouble posting a poll right now so I will have to post the poll from Friday's SmackDown on this coming Friday's recap.
I try and interject some fun into these lists, so I hope you have fun reading this week's list of the 127 things we learned, loved and hated from the show.
1. Welcome to Raw "Starring Brock Lesnar."
2. Big Johnny Ace comes out.
3. I love this guy. He is doing what JBL did when he was pretending to run for President in terms of his attitude.
4. JL is saying he revolutionized the WWE in one night.
5. I guess he is talking about the loser of last night's main event.
6. Ace brings out Brock Lesnar, who has to be hurting after that sick jump over the top rope last night.
7. Lesnar looks pumped. I guess that match didn't take a lot out of him.
8. Wow, I am shocked Lesnar is getting the level of heat I am hearing.
9. Triple H's music hits and the crowd pops big.
10. He looks good considering he got his ass handed to him a month ago.
11. Brock is hesitant to shake Hunter's hand, but he does it.
12. Trips says he is here to do what Johnny won't. He says Brock will no longer be making demands.
13. The "Starring Brock Lesnar" has been removed from the name of Raw.
14. Funkhauser says he was within his rights to make the deal and Triple H rips up the contract.
15. Brock looks like he wants to tear someone's head off right now.
16. It seems that WWE has realized Lesnar has a weakness on the mic because he hasn't been talking much.
17. Am I the only one who thinks this is taking forever to get resolved? Sign the deal, Dammit.
18. Triple H turns around and Brock takes him out.
19. Lesnar is pounding him in the corner and he gets Triple H in the Kimura.
20. A bunch of wrestlers come to help, but Brock bails and Triple H is in the ring holding his arm.
21. Trips can be heard saying his arm is broken and Cole says this will probably get Lesnar fired.
22. I doubt it.
23. Truth is helping but I don't see Little Jimmy helping out.
24. Interesting start to the show to say the least.
25. @michaelcole and @jerrylawler are saying that Triple H will be evaluated and we will get updates later.
26. Eve comes out on the ramp wearing some "I hope these make me look smart" glasses.
27. She says we will be having a Beat the Clock challenge to see who the No. 1 contender will be for the WWE Championship.
28. I think the Miz stole that jacket from The Repo Man. Remember that guy?
29. Santino comes out to face the man he beat last night to retain his US Title.
30. Santino almost wins at four minutes with the Cobra but Miz comes back and hits the Skull Crushing Finale for the win at 4:18
31. The Bellas are in the ring after a replay of Nikki losing her title to Layla last night.
32. The Bellas are fighting each other a bit as Layla makes her way out to the ring.
33. While the Bellas are fighting, Layla kicks them into each other and gets a really fast win over one of the twins to retain her title.
34. As Cole is in the middle of talking, the lights cut out and Jericho makes his way out. Nice timing.
35. I guess that Divas match was so short, WWE can fit the start to another Beat the Clock match right away.
36. His opponent is his former tag team partner, Big Show.
37. Show gives his hat to a really little kid at ringside.
38. Jericho has his arm taped up from the match last night with CM Punk.
39. I guess Jericho's busted-up back healed pretty quick. That photo I saw earlier today made it look pretty nasty.
40. Jericho hits a very awkward looking Lionsault for another near fall.
41. He tries to get Big Show in the Walls of Jericho but Big Show surprisingly reverses into a small package for a near fall.
42. Big Show and Jericho both miss their finishers and end up on the outside of the ring with 30 seconds left.
43. Jericho makes it into the ring after Big Show accidentally sends himself over the barricade.
44. The buzzer rings as the ref counts 10 to count out Big Show.
45. Cole says Jericho won by one second but we go to commercial with no announced winner, I am guessing this is what Eve meant when she said "contenders and not contender."
46. I thought she just slipped up earlier but I think she may have spoiled the storyline that we will have two title contenders.
47. Never mind, we return from commercial and we find out that Miz is still the top time to beat.
48. Brodus Clay is out next. Hopefully he will be having another match which lasts longer than a minute like he did last night.
49. Those dancers are my own personal anti-depressant.
50. Awesome. No Hornswoggle tonight.
51. Holy cow! I forgot JTG even worked for WWE.
52. Even though that match was a bit longer than the normal Clay squash, it was still a squash.
53. I will say this, I like the Funkasaurus logo designed like the logo from Jurassic Park.
54. Clay brings a few kids in the ring to dance with him.
55. Junkyard Dog used to do the same thing. Its always nice to give a couple kids a special memory like that.
56. I like the use of the classical sounding music during the playback of Cena and Brock's match from last night.
57. How does WWE always find the one girl in the crowd who is crying to show in these videos?
58. We see Eve backstage giving JL a pep talk.
59. Ha. Who cares where your eyes are, Eve?
60. I already feel bad for saying that.
61. Nice. Orton is out for a Beat the Clock challenge match.
62. So is he back on Raw or did they just not have enough main event talent to round out the matches?
63. That was a rhetorical question, for those who couldn't tell.
64. Jack Swagger is out to face Orton in what should be a decent match given that it will be 4:18 or less.
65. Classic Lawler commentary. "If you want to beat the clock you first have to beat your opponent."
66. Do people still use the insult "Thanks, Captain Obvious?"
67. No? Okay.
68. Swagger gets a near fall with a beautiful pinning combination which clearly shows his amateur wrestling experience.
69. Swagger gets the Ankle-Lock on Orton with 20 seconds left but Orton somehow pulls out an RKO and gets the win with 2 seconds left on the clock.
70. We will also be finding out who Cena's opponent for Over the Limit will be.
71. For some reason Kofi Kingston and R-Truth will be getting a tag title match after the break.
72. Did I miss something on Superstars or NXT? When did they earn a title shot?
73. At least I get to see Rosa.
74. Truth and Little Jimmy come out after the Tag Team Champions make their way out with Rosa.
75. Kofi is the last man out for the match.
76. Hahahaha. Primo pretends to kick little Jimmy and Truth goes Ape-s%&$ and attacks Primo.
77. These early minutes of this match reminds me how sorely under-used Truth has been in the last few months.
78. Dammit. Rosa was bounding up and down at ringside and I missed a minute of the match. Now all of a sudden Truth is being beaten down.
79. Kofi gets the hot tag and cleans house.
80. After some mayhem, Kofi ends up hitting Trouble in Paradise and pins Primo to win the titles for him and Truth.
81. Congrats to Truth and Kofi, a token championship should keep them busy for a little while.
82. After commercial, the former tag champs decide it is time to talk to Abraham Washington.
83. AW starts to talk but the camera cuts to Khali in the ring for a match in the beat the clock challenge.
84. Kane is going to be his opponent. I am willing to bet neither of these men will be beating the clock.
85. The match goes back and forth, but neither man gets a pin before the time runs out and the match is over.
86. Kane ends up hitting a chokeslam on Khali after the match.
87. Daniel Bryan is going to be in the next Beat the Clock match.
88. I hope he wins. A Punk vs. Bryan feud would be terrific.
89. Bryan comes out to a mixed reaction.
90. I thoroughly enjoyed his match with Sheamus last night. And Sheamus held his own in the wrestling department, too. I was impressed.
91. Interesting. Jerry Lawler is his opponent.
92. A loud "Yes" chant breaks out as the match starts, but I can hear some people chanting "Jerry" too.
93. I wonder how much harder it is for Cole to call this match alone. Not having someone to play off of must be strange when that is all you usually do.
94. Lawler hits his signature diving fist-drop but he only gets a two count.
95. Bryan comes back and puts Lawler in the Yes Lock and Bryan gets the win with almost two full minutes left.
96. This is freaking awesome. Bryan vs. Punk will be, and I hate this word, Barry, this is going to be Epic!!!
97. CM Punk's music hits and he comes out applauding Bryan's win.
98. I am very interested to see who the crowd will side with in this one.
99. Bryan probably won't get his usual cheers over the babyface in the match seeing as Punk is very popular right now.
100. I can't wait for this one. This will be an IWC explosion of fan-boy enthusiasm.
101. Cena comes out after the break with a sling on his arm.
102. Sign of the night: #DeanAmbrose trending worldwide"
103. Leave your picks for sign of the night below.
104. Cena says he has no breaks or tears in his arm, but every muscle is strained.
105. JL comes out. I actually miss seeing David Otunga by his side. I hope all is well with his family and the ordeal they are going through right now.
106. Nice. Cena says JL may as well have him face Zeus.
107. Cena plays into the crowd chanting "what."
108. Cena calls JL a Jackass and gets a pop.
109. I have to say I enjoyed the line about having his head so far up his ass that he brushes his teeth with toilet paper.
110. Cena''s impression of JL was so random that it caught me off guard. I laughed pretty hard. It was very accurate.
111. Laurinaitis brings out Lord Tensai as Cena's opponent for Over the Limit.
112. Cena is on the defensive as Tensai enters the ring, but it is Johnny Ace who takes him out with the mic.
113. He says his opponent at Over the Limit is actually John Laurinaitis.
114. This might not be Austin vs. McMahon-level awesome, but it will be an executive with real wrestling experience in the ring with Cena, so it might actually be entertaining.
115. Tensai helps JL take out a helpless Cena.
116. Laurinaitis hits Cena's hurt arm with a chair while Tensai held it against the steel steps.
117. This just got intriguing. I am actually looking forward to this feud in the coming weeks because JL has become a much better antagonist over the past few months.
118. Raw goes off the air with Cena laying in the ring holding his arm.
119. So we already know two matches for Over the Limit; CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and John Laurinaitis vs. John Cena.
120. There is obviously going to be a World title match as well with Sheamus facing what I assume will either be Christian or Alberto Del Rio.
121. Cody is the new IC Champion, so he could end up in a match defending his title, or they could go the other way and give the US title an actual PPV slot.
122. The tag team titles were just won by Truth and Kofi so that means we won't see the belts for another month when they are due to be defended again.
123. Since Layla is the Divas Champion after retaining tonight, it is safe to say she will be moving on from The Bellas and to either Beth Phoenix or a possibly returning Kharma. Whether the title will get a slot at OTL is yet to be seen.
124. Brock Lesnar could find himself facing someone of Triple H's choosing after he took out the COO by breaking his arm.
125. There are still a lot of top-level talent who could use a spot on the card like Miz, Jericho, Orton, Kane, Big Show, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler so we could see some kind of tag team match or multi-person match created to make spots for some of WWEs bigger names who are not in any feuds right now.
126. Tonight's show was pretty good. We got a title change and two new matches for the next PPV including one which will showcase two of WWE best technical wrestlers.
127. While I had a blast at Extreme Rules, I have to say it is nice to be watching this show from my couch.
Thanks for reading and feel free to share your thoughts and additions to the list below. Also, please take a moment and share any signs you thought were particularly entertaining tonight.
