Brooklyn Nets Logo: Classic Concept Provides Fans with a Refreshing Look
In the day and age of glitz, glamour and flashy colors…the Brooklyn Nets called an audible with their new design.
It has been 10 years in the making and finally the new look was released to the public on Monday as the New Jersey Nets are officially a thing of the past.
It’s got a classic black and white look similar to the Oakland Raiders, with a big “B” in the basketball that reminds fans of the new digs. While it doesn’t completely derive from the history of the Nets franchise, it’s certainly a drastic change from the sloppy red, white and blue look of years past.
Irina Pavlova, president of Mikhail Prokhorov sports and entertainment, described the look they were going for when creating the design (via New York Daily News):
We thought it kind of represented Brooklyn. It's simple. It's crisp. It's kind of classic. It's urban. We thought it's New York.

The logo itself isn’t that great. A shield with a basketball and “B” inside of it? Eh.
Color Scheme: A
New Yorkers love their fashion and creating a classic black and white design allows the franchise to makes some rather stylish looks from it.
You will be able to wear the black and white and match it with plenty of other articles of clothing. You certainly can’t match much with those horrendous New Jersey colors.

On the surface you may think that the black and white is weak, but quick…name me another team in the league with that same color scheme.
There isn’t one.
Aside from the Raiders and L.A. Kings, no other professional sports team has black and white. This was a good idea from the Nets new management team and it’s a good way to jump start what will hopefully be a new age in the franchise’s history.
