To start it all off, reigning MVP Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls will play host to Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers. For a complete guide as to what to watch in Game 1, check the following slides for all you need to know.
Chicago Bulls Player to Watch
1 of 3The Chicago Bulls have been waiting all season long for their veteran acquisition to shine, only to see him miss 38 games. Fortunately for the Bulls, they're getting Richard Hamilton back at the perfect time: the playoffs.
In 120 career postseason games, Hamilton has posted career averages of 20.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals. The Bulls are going to need that type of well-rounded performance as Hamilton matches up with the 76ers' "X" Factor.
Season Averages: 28 GP, 13.27 PER, 11.6 PPG, 3.0 APG, 2.3 RPG, 37% 3PT
Philadelphia 76ers Player to Watch
2 of 3Last year's second overall draft choice is coming into his own at exactly the right time. His 29-point, 13-rebound, six-assist and two-block performance in the 76ers' 90-85 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks is evidence of that.
While the Sixers may not need that type of performance, his 10-point, six-assist and four-rebound performance against the Pistons would be ideal to duplicate. He's an excellent ball-handler and respected floor general, making his well-rounded performance a must-have for a 76ers victory.
Expectations should be high for the Sixers, as Evan Turner reportedly likes this matchup.
Game 1 Prediction
3 of 3In 2012, the Chicago Bulls were 26-7 at home. Five of those losses came without Derrick Rose.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers were 16-17 on the road.
In the three games these teams played against each other in 2012, the Bulls won two of the three. Most notably, the only game played in Chicago was an 89-80 Bulls victory without Derrick Rose.
Expect something similar today.
Chicago Bulls 91
Philadelphia 76ers 83
