WWE Extreme Rules 2012: Chris Jericho and CM Punk Will Steal the Show

Chris Jericho and CM Punk will put on another 2012 Match of the Year candidate at Extreme Rules in their Chicago Street Fight.

This has been a personal feud that started slowly but really picked up steam in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 28. It's trailed off a bit the past few weeks, though the segment after WrestleMania with Jericho smashing the liquor bottle over Punk's head was fantastic.

That right there is what we should expect at Extreme Rules, and then some. Back in Chicago, Punk will look to steal the show in his hometown. Even better, Jericho will look to outshine him. The crowd reaction is going to be off the charts.

These two put on an incredible match at 'Mania, yet everyone could see they were holding back a bit. Still, they had phenomenal spot after phenomenal spot with a brilliant finish. Yet the best moment of the match was Jericho's inverted suplex to the outside mats.

Now, with anything and everything legal, expect these two masterful artists to paint a brutal picture with each other's blood.

It's tough to remember a more personal Street Fight atmosphere. This feud is set up for an extremely intense finish, and with the crowd eating up every single movement, this match will resonate with fans for the rest of the year.

Jericho and Punk both have a ton to prove. They were shafted heading into WrestleMania and they've been slightly shafted this month with the focus on John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.

Yet come showtime, it's all about their performances, and for the second straight month, Jericho and Punk will put on the Match of the Night, easily.
