WWE News: Daniel Bryan Considered Going to TNA After Being Released from WWE?

Chris HumphreyJun 7, 2018

Following the debut of the Nexus during the summer of 2010 which saw the group destroy the entire ringside area, Daniel Bryan was released from the WWE after the vicious attack on current ring announcer Justin Roberts that concerned sponsors of the company.

In an interview with the Baltimore Sun recently, the former World Heavyweight Champion went into detail of who courted him for his services including promotions in Japan and the WWE's biggest competition here in the United States—TNA Wrestling.

"WWE apologized and said they had sponsors they had to deal with and whatnot. And I said don't worry about me, I'm probably going to make more money this year than I did the last year when I was on NXT," Bryan said. "I had people from Japan calling me, I had TNA people talking to me, not directly, but through other people. It was just a fascinating time for me in my career."

With Bryan being one of the best in-ring competitors in the company today, he would have been definitely misused and not reached the success level and popularity that he currently has in the WWE.

While maybe not being as successful as in the WWE, it would have been awesome to see Bryan go up against some of the top stars of TNA like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and most notably, former WWE Champion Kurt Angle.

The dream match of Angle vs. Bryan would have been an awesome submission or Iron Man match between the two stars as both are well-versed in submission moves and the ability to put on great matches during an event.

Even though he didn't makie it to the biggest rival of the WWE after being released, do you think Daniel Bryan would have been successful if he actually went to TNA during his time on the independent circuit?
