WWE Extreme Rules 2012: Is This Brock Lesnar's Final Appearance for Awhile?

Justin WatryApr 25, 2012

This Sunday, WWE will be live in Chicago. Having been there many times, I can say it is definitely a wrestling city! The crowd will be pumped, and the company will do its best to put on an entertaining Extreme Rules event.

In the main event is Brock Lesnar versus John Cena. This will be an Extreme Rules match, and it is the Next Big Thing's first match back in WWE since 2004.

Coming off a huge match with The Rock just a few weeks ago, Cena is thrown right back into it. Facing Lesnar is a big selling in itself, but so quickly after Wrestle Mania is even more interesting!

With such a huge battle, it will be hard to see how this ends Sunday. I am nearly certain Lesnar will win, but how does this entire "feud" continue?

I am not sure it does.

Checking the official WWE events page, Lesnar is not advertised for another show past Extreme Rules. That could mean nothing, but it also gives you an idea about a few things going on.

Chris Jericho stops being promoted about halfway through the summer. The Bella Twins are not listed past this month. It may easily be changed, but WWE knows what they are doing.

Back to Lesnar, everybody knows he is not back full-time. That is nothing new. However, is he done after this Sunday night for the next few months?

That is where the intrigue comes in.

Most assume Lesnar has to win at Extreme Rules. It is his return match, and having him lose right out of the gate would be a very surprising move. However, he won't be around much.

This past Monday really gave a few hints into his immediate future.

Remember when he said he showed up when he wanted?

Remember when he said he wanted the show to be called WWE Raw: Starring Brock Lesnar?

Well, that would indicate him sticking around to gloat about it. I do not see him appearing live every week, advertised or not.

Of course, there is always the flip side. Brock winning, leaving and letting the talent worry about Cena's mindset and losing streak.

All the while Lesnar is shown at his nice, big expensive house with Sable (his wife) sitting on his couch pointing and laughing at the company...

What do you folks think? Is Brock done after Sunday for awhile? Will be go right into another match or take a break? Let's discuss...
