Top 25 Best NBA Ballers to Follow on Twitter

Josh BenjaminJun 7, 2018

Today, it seems that everyone is using social media, particularly Twitter. For those who don't use it, it's like Facebook, but you're constantly cranking out statuses (known as tweets) and can read those of your friends or even some celebrities.

Recently, many professional athletes have joined the site, and NBA ballers have come in droves.

Just when we thought that the only way we could see our favorite players was when they were on TV or in magazines, now we can have small glimpses into their everyday lives thanks to this marvelous invention.

Now that I've convinced all of you to join Twitter, here are the top 25 NBA players' accounts you should be following.

No. 25: Jared Dudley, @JaredDudley619

1 of 25

Dudley isn't the best player in the league by a long shot, but his Twitter is just a riot sometimes.

Whether he's asking fans how his Phoenix Suns can win a game, saying how he "disrespected" someone in a video game or giving false news about a certain decision, his quirkiness makes for a fun read.

No. 24: Jeremy Lin, @JLin7

2 of 25

The key to being a great NBA player is not only through great performance, but through charisma, and Lin has tons of it.

Never before have I seen a Twitter so humble, so subtle, that it gives you a look into the life of someone who behind all of the NBA luster, is just a man.

Even if he's just updating everyone on his rehab from knee surgery or just quoting Scripture, the man's Twitter will hopefully keep us all Linsane for years to come.

No. 23: Kyrie Irving, @KyrieIrving

3 of 25

One would think that the Twitter account of last year's No. 1 pick would be full of cocky tweets.

Instead, Irving is humble and quiet, rarely ever posting anything that isn't a reply to someone else. Still, this plug for a charitable organization he's involved in is just plain touching.

Using social media to keep in touch with people is one thing. Using it to plug good deeds, however, is something much more admirable.

No. 22: John Wall, @John_Wall

4 of 25

What can I say? I've got a soft spot for someone who posts links to Instagram on Twitter.

No. 21: Brandon Jennings, @BRAND0NJENNINGS

5 of 25

Looking at Jennings' Twitter, I'm not sure whether or not I should laugh or be in shock.

The guy is a complete goofball sometimes, but he also just lets everyone know what he's up to, even if it's just going to dinner.

With laughter and being open, it's hard to not read this.

No. 20: J.R. Smith, @TheRealJRSmith

6 of 25

Smith is no stranger to speaking his mind, and the picture of this apology tweet shows it.  Still, he's also a bit of a show off with it as he uses it to show off his pumped up kicks or a particular awesome teammate.

No matter how you look at it, his account is a fun read.

No. 19: LaMarcus Aldridge, @aldridge_12

7 of 25

Aldridge is currently on the shelf with an injury, but that just means he's more active on Twitter, even if it's just responding to people.

Still, his analysis of last of yesterday's Lakers game is enough to make me a lifetime subscriber.

No. 18: Stephen Curry, @StephenCurry30

8 of 25

I've been reading Curry's Twitter for the past few days, and it's honestly one of the most heartwarming accounts I've ever come across.

On top of just posting what's on his mind, Curry earlier reached out to his fans for name suggestions for his future daughter.

Simply precious!

No. 17: Ty Lawson, @TyLawson3

9 of 25

Look to the left, and there we have why Ty Lawson's Twitter is one of the best on the planet.

No. 16: Chris Bosh, @chrisbosh

10 of 25

Bosh doesn't tweet very often, but this picture here makes his account worth following because if we don't we may just miss such gold being posted again.

No. 15: Paul Pierce, @paulpierce34

11 of 25

Forget that his tweet to the left takes a shot at the biggest villain in the NBA.

How many NBA players, let alone celebrities, share a moment as intimate as this on a public website?

As a man who values family very much, I salute Pierce, even if he does play for the Celtics...

No. 14: Metta World Peace, @MettaWorldPeace

12 of 25

Because who doesn't want to go inside the mind of one of the most unpredictable personalities in the game?

No. 13: Steve Nash, @SteveNash

13 of 25

Forget his overall charisma or the fact that he's one of the best point guards in the NBA.

Nash showed his true NBA baller skills when he tweeted about getting a lap dance from Nicki Minaj. True or not, it's enough to keep me reading!

No. 12: Pau Gasol, @paugasol

14 of 25

Being an international player, Gasol always tweets in English and Spanish.

Putting his courteousness aside, his Twitter is worth reading because of his love for his fans.

I mean, come on. How many pro athletes do this for their followers?

No. 11: Amar'e Stoudemire, @Amareisreal

15 of 25

Don't let the fact that he skipped college fool you.

Stoudemire is a very worldly man, at least according to this picture of his heavy "reading material," which he tweeted.

If he's as worldly as the books he reads, which I'm pretty convinced he is, this Twitter is one to check out.

No. 10: Kevin Love, @kevinlove

16 of 25

Because anyone who posts this picture (pre-memed) on Twitter is someone you MUST follow, even if it's just for the hope of more funny photos.

No. 9: Carmelo Anthony, @carmeloanthony

17 of 25

'Melo is only an occasional tweeter, but his account is still worth following.

Simply put, he always has a positive thing to say about anything and rarely ever airs his frustrations on the site.

Long story short, it's a good account to follow should you need to brighten up your day just a little bit.

No. 8: Blake Griffin, @blakegriffin

18 of 25

Also just an occasional tweeter, Griffin still makes the most of what he posts on the site.

Sure, I'm convinced the guy would school me on the playground, but what about at the ping pong table?

He asked for challengers, so I say bring it on!

No. 7: Dirk Nowitzki, @swish41

19 of 25

Forget what he actually posts on his page. This video alone is a reason to follow Nowitzki!

No. 6: Dwight Howard, @DwightHoward

20 of 25

I'll admit that I've been critical of Howard's attitude all season, so making him even more popular on Twitter is one of the last things I thought I would do. Still, underneath that giant ego is a heart of gold.

Take a look at this particular cause that he supports, and it's hard not to look at him in a positive light.

No. 5: Chris Paul, @CP3

21 of 25

Paul uses his Twitter primarily to reply to people and/or plug various things, but he still makes room for some of his personal life as well.

Little treats like this picture show that even though he's probably the best point guard in the NBA today, that's just a job to him.

In real life, he's a husband and father first.

No. 4: Dwyane Wade, @DwyaneWade

22 of 25

Speaking of fatherhood, many thanks to D-Wade for constantly sharing his off-court life with this picture he tweeted of him and his sons!

Though you may hate the team he plays for, the man's Twitter is just great because even though he's great on the court, he's a parent first and uses his account to show the world just that.

I mean, who doesn't find this picture adorable?

No. 3: Kevin Durant, @KDTrey5

23 of 25

The best thing about KD's Twitter is that he keeps it simple.

He doesn't really plug anything, but he always has some nice things to say about his teammates and even others.

It isn't much, but still follow him because he may surprise you with something like this, every so often.

No. 2: LeBron James, @KingJames

24 of 25

Though he may be the biggest villain in the game, James' Twitter pulls at the heartstrings.  Why? Well, the man is clearly proud of his children, as he often posts random pictures of them.

Thus, follow him not so you can find bad things to say about him, but because you can see the man away from the media.

No. 1: Shaquille O'Neal, @SHAQ

25 of 25

OK, so the guy is retired. Still, this is Shaq we're talking about!

The guy is a riot under any circumstances, and if you're having a bad day, I highly suggest you go to his page and turn your frown upside down with this.
