WWE News: Christian Returning to TV This Week?

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

Last month, Christian returned from an ankle injury that had kept him out of action since November 2011, and he was revealed as a member of Team Johnny at WrestleMania 28.

But not long after his return, Christian was written off of TV after an attack by CM Punk on Raw and was removed from the 'Mania match.

We’d later learn that Christian’s ankle injury hadn’t fully healed and that he needed more time away from the ring.

Good news for peeps across the world, though: It looks Christian is finally ready to go.

From PWTorch.com

"

Christian is advertised for WWE's next Smackdown TV taping Tuesday night in Grand Rapids, Mich., pointing to his TV return on the next Smackdown episode. Christian joined the Smackdown brand mid-way through the European Tour to wrestle tag matches as he returns from injury.

"

While this doesn’t confirm that Christian will return to TV this week, it is, at the very least, a pretty good indication that he’s almost ready to.

And this, of course, would be great news for Smackdown and the WWE as a whole.

Christian had a fantastic 2011, a year in which he established himself as one of the company’s top heels and one of its most well-rounded performers as well. The WWE could certainly use him to feud with some of the bigger baby faces in the company.

Right off the bat, a potential WWE Championship feud between CM Punk and Christian seems like a possibility, given that Punk was the one who wrote Christian off of TV.

I don’t know about you, but I would love to see an extended feud between those two once Punk is done with Chris Jericho, because a series of Punk/Christian matches could rival what Christian did with Randy Orton last year.

No matter what Christian’s exact role will be, however, I really hope that he does return soon and that he finds himself in a high-profile role and storyline upon that return.

Don’t be surprised, though, if he only participates in a dark match on this week’s Smackdown.
