WWE: With Antonio Cesaro on the Main Roster, Will Kassius Ohno Follow Him Soon?

The Doctor Chris MuellerMay 31, 2018

Last week on SmackDown, we were treated to the debut of none other than Antonio Cesaro, and Cesaro has a lot of pressure on him to succeed after the reputation he built for himself before coming to WWE.

As Claudio Castagnoli, Cesaro and Chris Hero formed one of the most talented tag teams in the business while in Ring of Honor together.

The two were separately signed by WWE and will obviously be debuting separately, but there is always a chance WWE may decide to utilize their established chemistry and pair them up some time down the line.

Cesaro spent some time in FCW before making his debut on the main roster and Chris Hero, now going by Kassius Ohno, could be right behind him.

WWE has done a great job of snatching up established Indy stars lately and these are just two of the examples.

Cesaro is playing the heel right now with Aksana as his valet, much to Teddy Long's dismay, and he is being portrayed as a Rugby player who was ejected from the league for being too rough.

This is the perfect time to start debuting new stars in WWE. WrestleMania is behind us and we have a long time before SummerSlam to see who has the chops to be featured on one of the bigger shows of the year.

A lot of established talents like Triple H, Undertaker and Edge are no longer performing on a regular basis and WWE needs to start putting new faces out there to see who could be the next batch of leaders.

Right now, WWE has an amazing crop of talented wrestlers filling up the main events with CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Christian and John Cena.

The midcard is where WWE really needs to start beefing up its ranks. There are a lot of great names out there like Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and others, but the midcard should always be more full than the top tier of talents and Kassius Ohno could be the next guy to come in and take a spot.

He has the right look and ability to go very far in today's WWE. I say "today's WWE" because 20 years ago neither Ohno nor Cesaro would have been looked at as main-event talent. The days of body-builders ruling the WWE seem to be over.

Look at the roster right now. Where are most of the huge, muscular guys? In the low card. Ezekiel Jackson and Mason Ryan are not getting pushed simply because of their ridiculous size and strength, but you know they would have in the '80s.

Guys like Kane and Big Show have more working for them than their size, so it is expected that they will always be in and out of major feuds.

Kassius Ohno would be perfect for the Raw brand for several reason, the first of which being that Raw's mid-card is in need of a talented babyface.

There is Santino, Ryder, Kofi and Truth as far as babyfaces on Raw's mid-card, and three of those men already hold titles. Ohno would be a much-needed addition to that set of superstars.

Raw already has a lot of mid-card heels with Swagger, Ziggler, Miz, Epico, Primo, Otunga and Lord Tensai. They do not need any more heels.

Let's not forget that we have Damien Sandow coming in soon, which means SmackDown will add yet another heel to its roster. Raw needs a new face and Ohno is it.

I am really looking forward to what Ohno can bring to the table when he finally makes his debut in WWE. How do you think Kassius Ohno will fare in today's WWE?
