Brock Lesnar: All Signs Point to John Cena Romp at Extreme Rules

Eric BallApr 19, 2012

WWE has it all set up.

John Cena is down, he keeps losing, his confidence is plummeting, he isn’t the same guy, there is no way he can beat Brock Lesnar.

Yeah right.

The WWE creative team knows exactly what they’re doing as the countdown to the April 29 PPV Extreme Rules approaches. They want him to be the underdog; they want fans to question his ability to re-group after the legendary WrestleMania loss to The Rock.

When Cena and Lesnar sign the official contract this Monday on a three-hour Raw special edition, Cena is going to be portrayed as a confused and lost wrestler, while Lesnar will continue to be the goon that is just looking to inflict pain.

But this is Cena we are talking about, arguably the face of WWE. Losing to The Rock was one thing, so was getting his lip bloodied by Lesnar in a brawl…but losing to some newbie named Lord Tensai? That doesn’t happen.

WWE is trying to make Cena hit rock bottom before he’s able to “Rise Above the Hate” and destroy Lesnar.

We have to remember, Lesnar has just returned to WWE after an eight-year hiatus. He is still getting the UFC out of him. Before he becomes one of the elite wrestlers in the sport again, he needs to get humbled. What better way to do so than have him get rocked by Cena?

The WWE creative team is like a group of mad scientists that plan out every storyline months in advance. They know what they are doing with Cena right now, and what better way to resurrect one of the greats than on a PPV battle against a big name like Lesnar?

It’s going to be an exciting fight; no doubt about it. But if history tells us anything, it’s that the WWE loves to knock a man down repeatedly, only to have him rise on the biggest stage.

Expect Cena to beat Lesnar to a bloody pulp.
