Philadelphia Eagles: No Need to Fret over 2012 NFL Draft

Greg MaiolaJun 7, 2018

First of all, the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles were loaded with football talent. They just under-performed and never played quality football until the very end of the season.

Having said that, the Eagles can use help across the board and increase their football talent through the 2012 NFL Draft. They cannot afford to have another lost year and the draft is bound to make them better.

In fact, since Andy Reid became coach in 1999, he has had enormous success in the NFL drafts. He has nailed some high draft picks, like Donovan McNabb, and found talent late in the draft, like Brent Celek.

So there it is, 12 full draft classes. Look at all the impact players and household names to come out of that list. It is easy to trace Red's drafting patterns and perhaps predict where he might turn his attention to this draft.

With all of the free agents the Eagles have brought in in recent years, the Eagles are a quality football team, regardless of an underwhelming 2011 season.

No matter what direction the Eagles go to in this year's draft, they are sure to acquire good talent. Reid has provided a solid foundation through the draft over the years and the Eagles will have a solid draft in 2012, even if their selections aren't big name players.
