Nerlens Noel: Why Kentucky Is Best Choice for Top Recruit

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

If super recruit Nerlens Noel wants a chance to become a collegiate legend and a No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, he must opt to attend Kentucky for the 2012-13 season.

Noel, a 6’10”, 215-pound center prospect from Everett, MA, has reportedly narrowed his choices down to Syracuse, Georgetown and UK.

All three of these programs are excellent and will provide the young man with an atmosphere he needs to thrive, but no team will offer more to the Tilton School product than the Wildcats.

Coach John Calipari has perfected a system of bringing in the most talented recruits that would likely go right to the NBA, getting them to play at an insanely high level and making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament – all whilst significantly boosting their draft stock.

A prospect like Noel, who is widely regarded as the finest shot blocker and defender in the country, would be foolish to spurn the Wildcats and what they can offer him over the Hoyas and Orange.

Nerlens would have free reign to blossom into a superstar, just like Anthony Davis did during his amazing freshman season in Lexington.

Davis is on his way to becoming the No. 1 overall pick this June and developed from a promising prospect into a legitimate superstar in just a few months playing under Calipari and being surrounded by elite teammates.

Nerlens should be aware that nothing would be more enjoyable and better for his future than joining UK and working his way towards NBA superstardom starting day one on campus.

Kentucky would become his team and Lexington would be his town.
