Wrestlemania 28: Daniel Bryan's Loss Proves WWE Doesn't Care About Him

Eric BowmanApr 2, 2012

When a match at the biggest wrestling event of the year ends in 18 seconds, it says a lot about what the WWE thinks of the loser.

Daniel Bryan turned his head to Sheamus just as the fight got underway, and it ended up costing him everything.

This was for the World Heavyweight Championship, and Bryan goes down right at the start. The WWE went for the shock factor and it definitely worked.

However, the result of this match also sent a message that everyone heard loud and clear.

The WWE doesn't give two cents about Daniel Bryan.

Some will say they knew this before WrestleMania, but now it's fully out in the open. This was a title match for crying out loud, and the fact Bryan gets dumped like this shows his true worth to the company.

Sheamus won the 2012 Royal Rumble, and now he holds the heavyweight title belt.

You could say that he's on the rise now, but the real story is that Bryan is fading fast. Losing that way is extremely embarrassing, and it will be very difficult for him to recover from it.

Sure, the WWE was pressed for time, but having this brawl be completed in under a minute is all the proof you need about Bryan being a dud in the eyes of the company.

You can't really blame them, though, because after all, Bryan hasn't been very thrilling as of late, if ever.

Heck, even the Divas tag match lasted around 10 minutes, and several folks were calling that a bathroom break event. Why they would say that is beyond me, but to each his or her own, I guess.

It will be very interesting to see how the WWE sets up events for Bryan in the coming weeks. Watching him in the aftermath of WrestleMania 28 will be very intriguing.

For about 18 seconds that is, because apparently that's all Bryan is good for these days.
