WWE WrestleMania 28 Fantasy Booking: Brock Lesnar and Batista

Tom ClarkJun 7, 2018

Batista and Brock Lesnar.  Standing shoulder to shoulder, in the ring, at WrestleMania 28.  It is an unexpected moment, one that fans never thought they would see.

For nearly three hours, the Miami crowd was treated to one of the best WrestleManias of all-time.

They saw Sheamus crowned as the new World Champion, CM Punk retained the WWE Title and Triple H becoming Undertaker’s newest victim as the undefeated streak continued.

But, now, after a hard-fought main event, one that will be talked about for months to come, the grand spectacle of WrestleMania has come to an end, as Brock and Batista are in the ring, glaring at the massive crowd, as the fans go crazy.  Some are screaming, others are booing, but the majority of them are cheering.  Why?

Because lying motionless at their feet is John Cena, who just took a monstrous clothesline from Batista, followed by the F-5 from Lesnar.  Fans who have hated Cena for so long are celebrating, as the company’s cash cow has seemingly been led to slaughter, courtesy of two WWE legends.

But, as fans continue to show their love for both future Hall of Famers, they suddenly turn their attention to The Rock, who, just moments ago, was within an eyelash of pinning Cena when the two men hit the ramp to the roar of the crowd.

Batista delivers a boot to the gut, cinches up The People’s Champ, and lays him out with the Batista Bomb.

Brock and Batista stare at each other for a moment, then gaze up at the top of the ramp, at the man who just appeared, to the shock of the audience.

He is smiling, he is applauding, and he is very happy with the carnage he just saw unleashed upon John Cena.

He is Vince McMahon, and he is taking his company back.

The Monday Night RAW on the night after WrestleMania ranks among the highest rated in the program’s history.  Fans cannot wait to see what will happen next.

They are not disappointed.

The night begins with highlights from WrestleMania, and Michael Cole tells fans that Batista and Lesnar are reportedly on their way to the arena.

Finally, near the 11 p.m. mark, McMahon power walks to the ring as only he can.  Smiling smugly at the crowd, he tells the world that he is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, and he will not be sent home, or ordered what to do by anyone in his own company.

The WWE Board of Directors answered to him, not the stockholders, or the fans.  Without him, there would be no WWE.  And, without him, there would be no John Cena.

He says that Cena is his creation, like Hulk Hogan, like Stone Cold, like The Rock and Undertaker, and none of them respected him, or appreciated what he did for them.  He believes that his removal from WWE TV was a direct result of Cena’s championship loss to CM Punk, a man who would be dealt with in short order.

Vince’s smug demeanor morphs into an angry intensity, as he yells at the fans to “shut up,” amidst the chants of “CM Punk!”

But, now, Vince continues, now things would be different.  Now, he was back in the driver’s seat, as he is supposed to be, and even though Cena was not appreciative of giving him a career, there were two other men who were, and who hated John as much as he did.

Brock Lesnar and Batista come to the ring, and shake hands with the WWE CEO.  They remind everyone that it is Vince’s company, not the fans‘, and from now on, things were going to be done his way.

Anyone who did not agree with that, including the Superstars, would have to answer to The Animal and The Next Big Thing.

Cue the music.

John Cena races down the ramp, and into the ring.  He takes on both Batista and Brock Lesnar, putting up a brave fight, until he is just overwhelmed.

Then, without warning, Rocky’s music hits, and he slides in to make the save.

RAW goes off the air with Cena and Rocky now standing tall, staring down the two men who they will be forced to tag together against at Extreme Rules.

At least, that’s a possibility.

In case you were wondering, no, that did not come from a rumor, or a possible “major storyline revealed.”  This was just me, doing all kinds of crazy speculation.

But, speaking of rumors, yes, it has been reported that both Batista and Brock are in Miami, and that each man has had some conversation with WWE.

CM Punk versus Chris Jericho.  Undertaker versus Triple H, Hell in a Cell.  John Cena versus The Rock. Brock Lesnar and Batista in the same city on the same night.

It’s going to be a very interesting evening.
