Michigan Football Recruiting: Coveted 2014 WR Impressed by Visit to Ann Arbor

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

Dominique Booth, a 2014 wide receiver recruit from Pike High School in Indianapolis, Indiana received his first offer yesterday from the Spartans of Michigan State.

While an exciting and impressive achievement, it was Booth's visit to Ann Arbor later that day that earned him even more recognition.

He wasn't offered by the Wolverines, but he vaulted them to the top of his list saying, via Todd Worley of 247Sports:

"

I thought it was a great place. The history of all their championships and banners really stood out to me. And the indoor facility was just monstrous, and it was the best locker room I’ve been in so far, too.

It was more than I expected,” Booth said of Michigan. “They’re definitely at the top. Their facilities and practice puts them at the top so far. They’re always going to be in the top of my head for now on.

"

The stops in Michigan were just the start for the 6'1", 195-pound receiver.

Allen Trieu of Scout says Booth is visiting Notre Dame today before heading to Northwestern. He also planned trips to Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky with in the next few days, and he reports additional interest from Ohio State, Western Kentucky, Purdue and others.

This is just the beginning of a long process for Booth and the programs chasing him. He recorded 42 catches for 585 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore last year and is expected to have a big 2012.

As we've talked about for the last two weeks, Brady Hoke and his staff do a phenomenal job of earning pledges early in the process.

They currently lead the nation with 16 committed recruits for 2013, and they're continuing to press for the players they think are the best fit for them—like Eddie Vanderdoes and Josh Augusta.

Booth isn't the first 2014 recruit they've impressed, either. One the top projected quarterbacks in the class, DeShone Kizer, has also expressed interest in the Wolverines
