Michigan Football Recruiting 2013: 5-Star DT Feeling Love from the Wolverines
Placer, California's Eddie Vanderdoes has no shortage of offers and definitely no shortage of love.
So in order for the Michigan Wolverines to stand out, they know they need to recruit him as hard as anyone else in the country.
According to Vanderdoes, via 247Sports' Todd Worley (premium content), coach Brady Hoke and staff are doing just that:
""They’re one of the schools recruiting me the hardest,” Vanderdoes said of Michigan. “That’s definitely a school I’m really interested in. I really like them. I like the program, they have very good tradition and I like the coaching staff. They have good recruiting classes, which will really help, and they’re on the rise again. There’s a huge chance they’re going to be in my top-10. They show me a lot of love."
"
The Scout 5-star recruit has no intentions of announcing his decision until at least the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and also says he won't narrow down his list for some time as all schools are "even right now."
The Wolverines currently lead the nation with 16 committed recruits in the 2013 class and are expected to wind up somewhere in the low 20s once the ink dries on National Signing Day next February.
With so much time remaining in the recruiting process, the early commitments allow Michigan the freedom to be a bit picky when it comes to the recruits they need to press hardest and most frequently.
Vanderdoes fits that description perfectly.
In fact, the Placer High School star told Worley, "Whoever recruits me the hardest, I’m going to keep my eyes on them. I want to go to a program that doesn’t just need me, but they really want me."
Michigan has done a great job of getting, not only what they need, but what they want, since Hoke arrived in Ann Arbor.
They'll have to be patient yet persistent in their recruitment of Vanderdoes. He said he may visit Cal for their spring game, but will sort out the rest of his visits after his baseball season.
When he finally visits Michigan, the Wolverines will be more than ready for him.
