Amile Jefferson: Power Ranking Best Options for Elite Undeclared Recruit
Amile Jefferson scored eight points and showcased impressive aggressiveness in the McDonald's All-American game on Wednesday. The undeclared recruit is rated 18th in the nation by ESPN and continues to narrow his college options.
Let's examine each of the top contenders and rank the best options for the 6'7'' forward. He's surely going to be a terrific addition to whichever program he ultimately chooses.

Duke's weaknesses were on full display during the team's upset loss to Lehigh in the opening round. The Blue Devils fell in love with shooting jumpers, and didn't have anybody who wanted to attack the rim for easy points.
That's why Jefferson would fit in perfectly. He'd add some much-needed versatility to Duke's offense right away. Mike Krzyzewski has been around long enough to understand that his team can't shoot 26 threes and expect to win consistently.
With Austin Rivers heading to the NBA, the Blue Devils will also be looking for some star power to help remain competitive in the ACC. Jefferson provides that as well.
2. Ohio State
The Buckeyes are preparing for a Final Four clash against Kansas, but Thad Matta also has an eye on the future. William Buford is a senior and Jared Sullinger could be headed to the NBA, which would leave two gaping holes in Ohio State's lineup.
While Jefferson won't be able to replace both of those stars by himself, he can be the cornerstone of a recruiting class that gives the Buckeyes a bright future. He'd also attract future recruits to consider Ohio State more strongly.
There aren't many players in this class that can match his ability to create his own shot, and that's exactly what the Buckeyes need moving forward.
3. Kentucky
As has often become the case recently at Kentucky, there will likely be a lot of changes before next season. With so many elite NBA prospects on the Wildcats roster, John Calipari will need to reload his roster again.
Even though you can debate the merits of his approach, it works. Kentucky continues to be favored to win the national title and the players are setting themselves up to be early picks because of their success in his system.
That's obviously intriguing for Jefferson, but he has to be aware that the Wildcats utilize a short bench. If he misses out on the starting lineup, he will hurt his stock. It's the main reason Kentucky isn't higher on the list.
