Tim Tebow Trade: John Elway Won't Regret Sending Mile High Messiah to New York
UPDATE: Wednesday, March 21st at 9:52 p.m. EDT
Hangups, schmangups. Tim Tebow is a New York Jet, per...umm, the Denver Broncos:
"The Broncos have agreed to trade QB Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. More information: dbron.co/on

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Broncos will send Tebow to the Big Apple, with a seventh-round pick in his luggage, in exchange for a fourth- and a sixth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, while splitting the cost of Tebow's deal.

The New York Jets landed themselves a tremendous headache when they traded a fourth-round pick for Tim Tebow. Finally, John Elway can breathe a sigh of relief as the mountain of hype heads east.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported a bombshell of a trade on Wednesday afternoon when he dropped this on Twitter.
"Breaking news: Ny Jets have just traded a 4th round pick for Tim Tebow

In the span of a couple days, John Elway moved Tim Tebow while bringing in a Hall of Fame quarterback, negating all the vitriol that would normally come with trading away the man of the people.
This is a trade that makes perfect sense for the Broncos and little for the team that is getting him. Here is a breakdown of how it should affect both sides of this mammoth deal.
Denver Broncos
I would imagine there is a celebration going on in some backroom at the Broncos' facilities. Elway may be grinning with the face of a man that just pulled off the unthinkable.
A couple months ago, Elway was doomed to live with Tebow forever, because the fans would ride their former hero out on a rail if he ever dealt away their current one.
This is by no means a knock on Tebow. There is no question that the former Heisman winner can deliver winning results in a very specific set of circumstances.
There is no arguing that he is a plug and play quarterback that can fit in any system, because his talents demand an offensive overhaul of personnel and scheme.
It was a chore that Elway and the Broncos staff were not about to continue doing. They wanted a prototypical quarterback to take them to the next level, and there is nothing wrong with that.
The Broncos' post-Josh McDaniels were never sold on Tebow, but his aura and mystique demanded he start, lest the whole of Denver be burned down because of fans' demands.
But now, the only quarterback to complete under 50 percent of his passes and be considered immovable has just been traded, and you can't fault Denver for doing so.
Peyton Manning is here to make the loss of Tebow feel like and afterthought.
NY Jets
Really?
Seriously?
I mean, there might be a better way to implore the Jets for an answer to this trade, but none with enough punch exist.
Mark Sanchez has his issues. There is no arguing that claims of Sanchez as an elite quarterback are tenuous at best.
However, those issues are exacerbated with having no less than an American icon siting in the bullpen.
The fans will demand to see Tebow because that is what fans do, and NY Jets can get quite persuasive when they need to be.
Tebow will play because he is far more valuable pulling wins out of his rear than he is as a weight on Sanchez's shoulders sitting on the sidelines.
This brings us back to that nasty little business of Tebow needing some tweaks to an offense in order to succeed. Consider that Tebow will struggle at some point, which is usually when the boo birds come out in full force.
A locker room that is already split will now welcome a fanbase that will be stratified with Tebow faithful in one camp and those that want a "real" QB in the other.
The Jets just brought a backup quarterback with Joe Namath appeal onto the roster. This is not how you win a Super Bowl.
