2012 NFL Draft: Top Targets for Denver Broncos After Signing Peyton Manning
The Denver Broncos have landed Peyton Manning, and now it’s time for them to refocus their priorities in the NFL draft.
Instead of building around Tebow and his strengths and weaknesses, the Broncos must now concentrate on bringing in entirely different types of players who will help out Manning and his uncanny ability to throw the ball.
It’s an abrupt shift but one that the organization has to be happy to make.
Here are a few wide receivers they should now target with the No. 25 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Kendall Wright
Wright is a speedster who made Robert Griffin III look great at Baylor last season.
He would add another dimension to the Broncos’ passing offense and could easily be an impact player in his rookie year if he were to be selected.
Alshon Jeffery
There are a ton of question marks surrounding the South Carolina Gamecock, most notably his ability to create separation, but his size is extremely intriguing.
He would give Manning a huge target to throw at, and if anyone is going to motivate this young man to harness his potential, it would be the future Hall of Fame QB.
Stephen Hill
Hill dazzled at the NFL Draft Combine and looks like a lock to go in the first round because of his incredible upside.
The 6’4”, 215-pound beast can run a 4.36 40-yard dash, which is almost hard to believe.
Even if he’s a mediocre route runner at best, a QB of Manning’s caliber can find a way to make him a consistent threat to score a touchdown and find him when he is open.
The Georgia Tech prospect isn’t such a risk when the man throwing him the ball is so great.
