WWE Rumors: John Cena, Lord Tensai, Kevin Nash and Tuesday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsMar 20, 2012

WWE took a toned-down approach to the WrestleMania build, which was probably the smartest move considering that everything will be on the table next week from Atlanta for the go-home show.

One of the biggest surprises was not having The Rock or John Cena cut a promo in the arena. Rock got to do his thing in front of the Rocky statue, but other than that, there was just an Attitude Adjustment and Rock Bottom given to Mark Henry.

We are fast approaching zero hour for WrestleMania, but there is still plenty of news to talk about from the world of WWE.

John Cena Feeling Good After Car Accident

Everyone in WWE was panicking when word came down that Cena had been in a car accident making the media rounds in Philadelphia. He looked fine in his match with Mark Henry and will be in top shape for WrestleMania.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will this change the way Cena works at WrestleMania?

Our Take: We shall see if there are any late effects to come, but right now, everything looks like it will be all even for Cena and The Rock on April 1.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Panic Faces

Nothing would cause a mass hysteria in WWE like losing Cena or Rock right before WrestleMania. This is THE match that the show has been built around, and nothing can happen to either one of them for the next 12 days.

Who Is Lord Tensai?

WWE began airing vignettes for the debut of the mysterious Lord Tensai. There are a lot of theories floating around about what's in store for this star, but rest assured, it is the star formerly known as A-Train and Prince Albert.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What's with WWE and all of these horrible name changes?

Our Take: If copyright and trademarks are that important, then WWE should figure out a new way to make money off of these stars because none of these names really work. Hopefully, this time will be different.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Prince Alberts

It would be foolish to completely write him off before he re-debuts, but unless there is something really special planned, it is going to be hard for him to overcome that name and be anything more than a midcard performer.

Kevin Nash Gives TNA Some Advice

We don't often talk TNA in here, and for good reason, but Nash was asked in an interview what it would take for the company to become formidable in the wrestling business. His reply was basically something to the effect of a CM Punk, John Cena or The Rock.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Where does Nash get his pearls of wisdom?

Our Take: It takes outside-the-box thinking to determine what makes a wrestling promotion successful, and Nash saying that all TNA needs is a Punk, Cena and/or Rock is genius. Why did no one think of that before?

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Waffle House Cooks

At least Nash actually acknowledged that Punk and Cena are good for the business. Knowing his past, it would have been more likely for him to say Mason Ryan or someone like that.

WWE Shuts Down Developmental Territory

WWE has had a partnership with Florida Championship Wrestling for years. It has served as the feeder system for the company, where all the new talent goes after being signed to learn how to work the WWE way.

Not anymore, because the company has ceased operations with FCW.

Question on Everybody's Mind: So what happens now?

Our Take: The reports suggest that WWE is going to move its development territory closer to the offices in Connecticut. Triple H is trying to overhaul the whole thing, but this would seem to be a drastic step that could have serious ramifications for all of the talent in FCW.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Business Decisions

Perhaps there is some grand plan for the development territory, but this is bad right now. Development has been a mess for years, and taking it away isn't going to help anything. This is a huge story for WWE, and one that can have big consequences for the future of the company.
