NFL Free Agency Rumors: This Week's Hottest Rumor for Every Team
The Denver Broncos landing Peyton Manning leads an already hectic week around the rumor mill in the NFL.
Peyton Manning isn't taking his talents to South Beach, Mike Wallace looks to be safe and LaRon Landry brings back the hard-hitting attitude that the New York Jets lacked in 2011.
All this and more is going on around the league that never stops, and these are the hottest rumors for every team.
Manning Comes to Terms with the Broncos
1 of 32The image of Peyton Manning in an Indianapolis Colts jersey is forever retired, and it will take some time to get used to seeing him in navy blue and orange.
Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen broke the news on Monday morning that Manning finally chose his destination.
The Broncos just nabbed one of the greatest free agents and greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and from this moment on, "Tebow Time" will have to be left on hold.
Dolphins Negotiating with Smith
2 of 32The Miami Dolphins lost out on Peyton Manning, but they're not giving up on their quarterback search just yet.
The Denver Post reported that Alex Smith and the Dolphins are negotiating, and though Peyton Manning isn't in the running for the San Francisco 49ers quarterback job anymore, Smith and the Dolphins could still come to terms.
Smith's stock rose a lot after his 299-yard and three touchdown performance against the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs, and that could land him a big-time deal in Miami.
Ginn Visiting the Lions
3 of 32The San Francisco 49ers could have really used Ted Ginn in the NFC Championship Game against the New York Giants, and it turns out that they might not have him next season either.
The Sacremento Bee reported that Ted Ginn is interviewing for a job with the Detriot Lions at wide receiver.
In the game that saw the 49ers' fate sealed, Ginn's replacement, Kyle Williams, had two critical fumbles that ultimately ended San Francisco's season.
The Panthers' Stewart on the Trade Block
4 of 32With the Carolina Panthers picking up Mike Tolbert, one has to assume that Jonathan Stewart is on the trading block.
It's good to have multiple great players at one position, but you can't have two guys with names like Tolbert and Stewart occupying the same role.
With Carolina signing Tolbert to a four-year deal, odds are that the Panthers will trade away Stewart.
Saints Visit with Bunkley
5 of 32The New Orleans Saints are looking to make some much-needed upgrades on defense and Brodrick Bunkley could be one of the new guys on the team.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that the Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is looking to maybe re-sign Sean Rogers and Aubrayo Franklin too, but really, they failed to make a splash last season.
Bringing in a guy like Bunkley could give this team a much improved pass rush, which is something they've been longing for since the 2009 season.
Eagles Talking to Burress
6 of 32Plaxico Burress has made it known that he wants to play with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mike Vick, and it seems likely that he may get his wish.
The Eagles are reportedly one of the teams that are in talks with Burress, and if they can add him to their receiving core that would make the "dream team" that more dangerous.
Furthermore, it would give Vick a great option to go to in goal line situations.
Wallace Looks to Be Safe in Pittsburgh
7 of 32The market for Mike Wallace looks to have been dried up.
Though the San Francisco 49ers could in fact make a run at the free agent, it is highly unlikely with them signing Mario Manningham.
That and the fact that the New England Patriots picked up Anthony Gonzalez and Brandon Lloyd over the weekend has the Steelers feeling even more confident in making a deal with Wallace.
Bears Getting Closer to Deal with Forte
8 of 32Rumor has it that the Chicago Bears and Matt Forte are inching closer toward getting a deal done.
Bears general manager Phil Emery told the Chicago Tribune that "he's continuing to work with Forte and his agent to get a deal done."
In other words, he's finally taking Bears' fans advice and attempting to "pay the man."
Bush Expected to Visit with Seahawks
9 of 32The Seattle Seahawks have been busy this offseason, and after signing what looks to be their next franchise quarterback in Matt Flynn, they might be adding some depth in the backfield real soon.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the 6'1", 245-pound back could be joining Marshawn Lynch in the Seahawks backfield.
Imagine that one-two punch. Get your skittles ready, Seattle.
Mathis Turns Down the Ravens
10 of 32Bad news Baltimore Ravens fans, Evan Mathis is staying with the Philadelphia Eagles.
After the Ravens did everything in their power to convince Mathis to come in and replace Ben Grubbs, Mathis tweeted this.
It's time for Plan B for the Ravens search committee.
Bengals Receive Visits but No Signings
11 of 32Lately, the Cincinnati Bengals have done a lot of visiting, but they've failed to close the deal.
Over the weekend, the Bengals had seven visits, but none of the visits resulted in signings.
Of those that visited were Aaron Ross, Tracy Porter, Jason Allen and Jamaal Anderson.
Browns Didn't Offer 2nd Round Pick to Rams in Initial Offer
12 of 32The Washington Redskins scored the big trade in the 2012 NFL Draft with the St. Louis Rams, and the big reason was they were willing to give up their second round pick.
The Akron Beacon Journal reported that the Cleveland Browns offered three first round picks, but no second round picks initially.
It wasn't until later that they threw in another second round pick, but by that time, it was too late.
Vikings Sign Arena Football Player
13 of 32The Minnesota Viking signed a defensive back, but they didn't get him from another NFL team.
Instead, the Vikings signed Arena Football League defensive back Nick Taylor, who also played college basketball at FIU.
Mario Williams Keeps Quarterbacks from Joining AFC East
14 of 32This is sort of a joke, but at the same time, think about it.
Ever since Mario Williams joined the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins have struck out with Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn.
It's most likely just a coincidence, but it looks like Williams has those wagons circling in such a way that it's scaring the competition away.
Colts Grab Zbikowski
15 of 32After getting rid of nearly half of their roster, the Indianapolis Colts managed to pick up a solid addition to their secondary.
The Baltimore Sun reported that the Colts grabbed Tom Zbikowski from the Baltimore Ravens, and that both sides agreed to terms.
Tebow Time in Jacksonville?
16 of 32As soon as the Denver Broncos signed Peyton Manning, rumors immediately started to fly about which team Tim Tebow will go to.
And as you imagined, Jacksonville is at the top of the list. After all, their fans wanted the Jaguars to sign Tebow in the first place, not Blaine Gabbert.
The next few weeks should be a lot of fun for Tebow Mania.
John Abraham Returns to the Falcons
17 of 32Sack machine John Abraham returns to the Atlanta Falcons per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Falcons signed the veteran Abraham to a three-year deal.
Given the fact that Abraham had 22.5 of his 112 career sacks in the past two seasons, I'd say that was a good move.
Police Say That the Bucs Followed Procedure with Talib's Accident
18 of 32The biggest news since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added Vincent Jackson, Eric Wright and Carl Nicks involves cornerback Aqib Talib's car accident from 2010.
The police concluded that the decision to not write a police report following the accident was correct, and if you want to read more on this, you can here.
Talib's car accident had no hits, no injuries, no DUI and wasn't a hit-and-run.
Titans' Jones Moves on in Free Agency
19 of 32Jason Jones is putting his days with the Tennessee Titans behind him.
The Nashville City Paper reported that the free agent signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
In other words, the Titans are losing only 27 tackles and three sacks from 2011.
Jets Grab LaRon Landry
20 of 32The New York Jets added a new headhunter to their defense in LaRon Landry.
Landry only played in eight games last season with the Washington Redskins, but he still managed to acquire 48 tackles and one forced fumble.
At 27, Landry is entering the prime of his career and if he can avoid getting injured, the safety could provide Jets fans with a lot of memorable hits.
Patriots Sign Gallery
21 of 32The New England Patriots will be adding more experience to their offensive line next season with the signing of Robert Gallery.
Gallery started 12 games at guard for the Seattle Seahawks last season, and entering his ninth season in the league, the former second overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft makes the Patriots offense that much deeper in 2012.
Texans Re-Sign Myers
22 of 32The Houston Texans re-signed their Pro Bowl center Chris Myers.
After making his first Pro Bowl of his career, Myers was awarded with a four year, $25 million contract.
I'm sure after Mario Williams hit the road, the Texans had some freed up money to give their center.
Cowboys Suing for Cap
23 of 32According to Pro Football Talk, the NFL could have a lawsuit waiting on them by the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys.
To put it simply, the Cowboys and Redskins are ticked off about having $46 million removed from their cap space over the next two years without violating any rules or policies, and they're looking to sue because of it.
Lucy, you've got some 'splaining to do!

Giants Looking to Draft WR
25 of 32With the New York Giants dropping the ball on re-signing Mario Manningham, there is now talk of the organization drafting a wide receiver.
With Manningham gone, the Giants are losing a receiver that has produced 2,315 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns in his four year career with New York.
You can't help but think that the Giants will try to find a solid replacement for Manningham in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Packers Lose Flynn
26 of 32Other than the Green Bay Packers losing Matt Flynn, there hasn't been a whole lot of news surrounding the franchise this week.
Losing Flynn hurts the depth of the Packers at quarterback, but with a starter like Aaron Rodgers, the loss of a great backup really doesn't sting too bad.
Chiefs Meeting with Quinn
27 of 32Though the date was unclear, The Kansas City Star reported that the Kansas City Chiefs will meet with Brady Quinn.
Quinn rode the bench last year behind Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow, and at this point of his career, it looks like he's just looking to find a solid role as a backup.
Tracy Porter Visited Raiders
28 of 32The New Orleans Times-Picayune announced that Tracy Porter is expected to visit the Oakland Raiders "in the next couple of days."
The Raiders recently met with former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Shawntae Spencer, so it's pretty obvious that the Raiders are seeking help to add to their secondary.
Eddie Royal to the Chargers
29 of 32After losing a valuable piece like Vincent Jackson, the San Diego Chargers went out and grabbed a "royal" replacement.
Pardon the cheesy pun, but the addition of Eddie Royal to the Chargers was a must-have for the offense.
Phillip Rivers needs a receiver that can be a deep threat for the offense, and the Chargers organization went out and found just that.
Cardinals Give Kolb $7 Million
30 of 32After pursuing Peyton Manning and coming back empty handed, the Arizona Cardinals have decided to pay Kevin Kolb the $7 million roster bonus.
I can picture this perfectly in my head. Just imagine the Cardinals organization reaching for their checkbook with a heavy sigh.
49ers Could Start Kaepernick or Johnson
31 of 32Colin Kaepernick or Josh Johnson could be the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback.
The 49ers failed to sign Peyton Manning, and if they fail to come to terms with Alex Smith, Kaepernick or Johnson starting could become a reality for San Francisco.
After it seemed like the 49ers were finally making strides with a quarterback, there's a possibility that they will have to go through that same process all over again with one of these two quarterbacks.
Rams Grab Wells
32 of 32According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the St. Louis Rams signed a four year, $24 million deal with Scott Wells.
Wells played with the Green Bay Packers for eight seasons, and the 31-year old made his first Pro Bowl last season.
