Scores and Recap from Friday
There was exactly one game on the NIT slate on Friday, and it featured a matchup between the top-seeded Washington Huskies and the fourth-seeded Northwestern Wildcats.
It was no contest. The Huskies got up early, and they owned the second half en route to a 76-55 win.
Washington guard Terrence Ross dominated the proceedings, scoring a career-high 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting. He wasn't very sharp from distance, shooting just 6-of-14 from beyond the arc, but he made up for it by going 6-of-6 from the line and by grabbing eight rebounds.

Rebounds were a key problem for the Wildcats in this game. They pulled down just 24 of them, as opposed to Washington's 42. The Huskies had no trouble cleaning up on the offensive glass, pulling down a grand total of 19 offensive rebounds.
Northwestern guard John Shurna did his best to keep his team in the game, scoring 24 points thanks in large part to his five three-pointers. He added six rebounds and four steals.
The rest of the Wildcats weren't quite as active. Only Alex Marcotullio managed to score more than 10 points, and the team as a whole shot just 35 percent from the floor. Reggie Hearn had a tough game, shooting 3-of-11 from the field and 0-of-6 from downtown.
Northwestern's once-promising season is now over. There was a time the Wildcats looked like a lock for their first ever NCAA tournament appearance, but they suffered some bad losses down the stretch. And now they're out of the NIT tournament.
Washington has looked pretty good in its first two NIT titles. Lorenzo Romar and CO. are clearly playing with a chip on their shoulder after missing out on an NCAA tournament berth, as they were snubbed despite the fact they won the regular-season Pac-12 title.
The Huskies await the winner of Sunday's game between Oregon and Iowa in the NIT quarterfinals.
