2012 NFL Draft: Studs Seattle Seahawks Should Target in Round 2

Madison GuernseyJun 7, 2018

The Seattle Seahawks have already lost out in the Peyton Manning and Mario Williams sweepstakes, and the list of marquee names on the free-agent list is getting low.

Meanwhile, the NFL draft is only a month away, and Seattle has some holes it can fill with prospects.

The Seahawks are already one of the younger teams in the league, and more youth would solidify their potential for years to some.

Here are some players the Seahawks should target in Round 2 in April.

Bobby Wagner, LB, Utah State

1 of 3

Senior Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner would be a good fit for Seattle.

With Leroy Hill and David Hawthorne as free agents, the Seahawks have a void to fill at linebacker. Wagner is a guy who's a little under the radar, but who was impressive last season for Utah State, recording four sacks and 147 total tackles.

Wagner has lots of potential and should definitely be available in the second round.

Harrison Smith, SS, Notre Dame

2 of 3

Notre Dame's Harrison Smith would provide some much-needed depth in the Seattle secondary. Veteran corner Marcus Trufant was released, and other than Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, the safety position is pretty weak.

Smith is a big safety at 6'2'' and 214 pounds. He has great ability to find and tackle the ball-carrier.

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami

3 of 3

Other than Trent Richardson, Miami's Lamar Miller very well might be the best running back available in the draft.

The 5'11'' sophomore rushed for over 1,200 yards in 2011, and though the Seahawks just inked Marshawn Lynch for a few more years, Miller is a viable backup and can start if Lynch gets hurt.
