Post-Rams/Redskins Trade: 2012 7 Round Mock Draft with Pick-by-Pick Analysis
Welcome to the first mock that I have done since the Rams-Redskins Trade. Now, a couple of things I do when I make a mock is I project who a team would pick in that situation. I also take into account that trades are more or less ridiculous to predict and if I could predict one, especially this early, I would be better than anyone out there.
The team analysis will be posted and will go over the following topics: The first is what the needs are for that particular team. Secondly, we will list the picks from the mock draft. And then finally, we'll analyze with 1-2 sentences on each pick and why it makes sense. For each individual team, we will be profiling the whole class.
If you have any comments or questions, feel free to make one here. I will gladly respond to every comment or question made. Now, the seven round mock will take into account the needs and drafting practices of the teams.

Arizona Cardinals
8 of 39Team Needs:
Offensive tackle, wide receiver, inside linebacker, defensive end, outside linebacker, offensive guard, cornerback depth, backup quarterback, backup nose tackle, kicker and punter.
The picks:
13 Arizona Cardinals - ILB Luke Kuechly - Boston College - 6'3" 242
81 Arizona Cardinals - OLB Chandler Jones - Syracuse - 6'5" 266
112 Arizona Cardinals - DE Tyrone Crawford - Boise State - 6'4" 275
143 Arizona Cardinals - QB Ryan Lindley - San Diego State - 6'4" 229
174 Arizona Cardinals - WR DeVier Posey - Ohio State - 6'2" 211
205 Arizona Cardinals - CB Asa Jackson - Cal Poly SLO - 5'10" 191
Why Arizona goes this route:
Kuechly and Washington would make an excellent pair in the middle of the defense. Chandler Jones could replace Joey Porter or Clark Haggans in the outside linebacker rotation. Crawford is someone who could replace Holliday as depth behind Campbell and Dockett in the DE role. Lindley is a better backup QB than Skelton, Bartel or Hall. Posey could be a solid third option for the offense and Asa Jackson is a small-school corner that could compete for a nickel job right out of the gate.
Atlanta Falcons
9 of 39Team Needs:
Left tackle, offensive guard, defensive end, center, cornerback depth, running back depth, future tight end, slot and No. 4 wide receiver, linebacker depth, safety depth and return specialist.
The picks:
55 Atlanta Falcons - CB Brandon Boykin - Georgia - 5'9" 182
85 Atlanta Falcons - DE Cam Johnson - Virginia - 6'4" 268
149 Atlanta Falcons - OT Tom Compton - South Dakota - 6'5" 314
182 Atlanta Falcons - TE Brian Linthicum - Michigan State - 6'5" 245
213 Atlanta Falcons - WR Ryan Broyles - Oklahoma - 5'10" 192
Why Atlanta goes this route:
Boykin is an excellent selection for a nickel corner who could be a return specialist and a big part of Nolan's defense. Johnson is a pass rusher who could come in and impact from day one. Compton is someone who could compete with and learn from Will Svitek for a year or two. Linthicum is a raw tight end who could learn from the Hall of Famer Gonzalez. Broyles is a guy who can play in the slot and be an impact receiver for the Falcons.
Baltimore Ravens
10 of 39Team Needs:
Left tackle, center, slot wide receiver, outside linebacker, future inside linebacker, running back depth, safety depth, offensive guard depth and quarterback depth.
The picks:
29 Baltimore Ravens - OLB Andre Branch - Clemson - 6'4" 259
61 Baltimore Ravens - OT Bobby Massie - Ole Miss - 6'6" 316
92 Baltimore Ravens - LB Nigel Bradham - Florida State - 6'2" 241
156 Baltimore Ravens - WR Tommy Streeter - Miami - 6'5" 219
188 Baltimore Ravens - RB Dan Herron - Ohio State - 5'10" 213
220 Baltimore Ravens - OG Derek Dennis - Temple - 6'3" 315
Why Baltimore goes this route:
Andre Branch and Terrell Suggs will create a seal on the edge against the run and will be dominant off the edge in pass rush. Massie gives competition at both tackle spots and can learn from McKinnie at left tackle. Bradham gives the Ravens someone to learn from Ray Lewis and take over his spot in the defense when he retires. Streeter is a tall, fast receiver that could immediately compete for a role in the slot. Herron is a back who would be better than Anthony Allen as someone to spell Ray Rice. Dennis could be insurance if Grubbs doesn't head back to the Ravens.
Buffalo Bills
11 of 39Team Needs:
Defensive end/defensive end depth, left tackle, wide receiver, cornerback, outside linebacker, tight end and quarterback depth.
The picks:
10 Buffalo Bills - OT Riley Reiff - Iowa - 6'6" 313
41 Buffalo Bills - DE Shea McClellin - Boise State - 6'3" 260
72 Buffalo Bills - CB Leonard Johnson - Iowa State - 5'10" 196
105 Buffalo Bills - OLB Kyle Wilber - Wake Forest - 6'4" 249
124 Buffalo Bills - CB Shaun Prater - Iowa - 5'10" 190
136 Buffalo Bills - TE Michal Egnew - Missouri - 6'5" 252
167 Buffalo Bills - DE Brett Roy - Nevada - 6'3" 275
201 Buffalo Bills - QB Russell Wilson - Wisconsin - 5'11" 204
Why Buffalo goes this route:
Reiff can lock down the left tackle spot long term with a true franchise guy. McClellin is a guy who could come in and learn from Kelsay for a year and then take over as the long term defensive end across from Shawne Merriman. Johnson is someone who could compete for a nickel spot and then eventually start. Wilber can play the SLB and WLB spots in the new Wannstedt 4-3. Prater is another corner who would come in and compete for a role and would force Aaron Williams over to the S spot. Egnew is a receiving TE who would compete with Chandler for playing time. Roy would add a better edge-setting run defender to the defensive end depth and Russell Wilson provides a great backup QB behind Fitzpatrick.
Carolina Panthers
12 of 39Team Needs:
Defensive tackle, cornerback, outside linebacker, safety/safety depth, right guard, offensive tackle depth, wide receiver and kicker.
The picks:
9 Carolina Panthers - NT Dontari Poe - Memphis - 6'4" 346
40 Carolina Panthers - CB Jayron Hosley - Virginia Tech - 5'10" 178
104 Carolina Panthers - OLB Keenan Robinson - Texas - 6'3" 242
135 Carolina Panthers - S Eddie Whitley - Virginia Tech - 6'1" 200
169 Carolina Panthers - WR Danny Coale - Virginia Tech - 6'0" 201
200 Carolina Panthers - S Christian Thompson - South Carolina State - 6'0" 211
Why Carolina goes this route:
Dontari Poe gives the Panthers a better big body in the middle of the defense to team with Sione Fua. Hosley gives the Panthers a corner who could actually start and compete across from Gamble and allow Captain Munnerlyn to play his more natural nickel slot. Robinson gives the Panthers depth behind Thomas Davis and his weak knees. Whitley and Thompson give safeties who will compete with Godfrey and Martin for possible starting roles. Coale gives the Panthers a WR who can come right in and play the slot.
Chicago Bears
13 of 39Team Needs:
Wide receiver, left tackle, offensive guard, center, cornerback, tight end, running back depth, safety depth, linebacker depth, defensive end depth and quarterback depth.
The picks:
19 Chicago Bears - CB Stephon Gilmore - South Carolina - 6'1" 190
50 Chicago Bears - OT Zebrie Sanders - Florida State - 6'6" 320
74 Chicago Bears - OL Brandon Washington - Miami - 6'3" 320
80 Chicago Bears - WR Juron Criner - Arizona - 6'3" 224
111 Chicago Bears - DE Jake Bequette - Arkansas - 6'5" 274
142 Chicago Bears - TE DeAngelo Peterson - Louisiana State - 6'3" 243
173 Chicago Bears - S Tysyn Hartman - Kansas State - 6'3" 206
204 Chicago Bears - DT Mike Daniels - Iowa - 6'0" 291
Why Chicago goes this route:
Peanut Tillman is over 30 and the only other corners under contract for the Bears are Moore and Warren. The Bears get an instant starter in Gilmore. Sanders is a great fit for a right tackle in the NFL allowing Gabe Carimi to play his more natural left tackle spot. Brandon Washington would be an instant upgrade over Chris Williams at the left guard or Garza at the center spot and would allow the Bears to finally cut Chris Williams. Juron Criner would give them a taller WR that can catch the ball. Jake Bequette would give the Bears a pass rusher who could compete with Chauncey Davis and Corey Wootten for playing time. Peterson is a tight end that would be able to run a few pass routes. Hartman gives good depth behind Wright and Conte at safety. Daniels would add a solid pass-rushing defensive tackle to the mix with Paea, Melton and Toeaina.
Cincinnati Bengals
14 of 39Team Needs:
Cornerback, running back, safety/safety depth, offensive guard/guard depth, defensive tackle depth, defensive end depth, wide reciever depth, outside linebacker depth, offensive tackle depth and kicker.
The picks:
17 Cincinnati Bengals - CB Dre Kirkpatrick - Alabama - 6'2" 186
21 Cincinnati Bengals - OG Cordy Glenn - Georgia - 6'5" 345
53 Cincinnati Bengals - RB Lamar Miller - Miami - 5'11" 212
84 Cincinnati Bengals - WR Marvin Jones - California - 6'2" 199
116 Cincinnati Bengals - S Trenton Robinson - Michigan State - 5'10" 195
148 Cincinnati Bengals - DE Trevor Guyton - California - 6'3" 285
158 Cincinnati Bengals - OG Lamar Holmes - Southern Mississippi - 6'5" 323
180 Cincinnati Bengals - LB Chris Galippo - Southern California - 6'2" 241
212 Cincinnati Bengals - DT Jaye Howard - Florida - 6'3" 301
Why Cincinnati goes this route:
Kirkpatrick provides too much value to pass up at the corner spot across from Leon Hall; this move would allow the Bengals to use Clements at a nickel spot. With possibly losing both starting guards to free agency, Cordy Glenn could come right in and start at either guard spot with a massive impact. Lamar Miller is a guy who would start out of the gate and be a Rookie of the Year consideration if he gets on the right team. Marvin Jones is used to being a No. 2 option at Cal, and would be a great compliment to A.J. Green on offense. Robinson is a ballhawking safety who would be a good fit for Lewis' defense. Guyton and Howard provide depth on the defensive line. Holmes gives the Bengals someone to compete with Clint Boling for the left guard starting spot and Galippo is a depth pick for the MLB and SLB spots.
Cleveland Browns
15 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, wide receiver, right tackle, defensive end, future cornerback, outside linebacker depth, running back, offensive guard, free safety, defensive tackle depth and kicker.
The picks:
4 Cleveland Browns - RB Trent Richardson - Alabama - 5'9" 228
22 Cleveland Browns - WR Kendall Wright - Baylor - 5'10" 196
37 Cleveland Browns - OLB Zach Brown - North Carolina - 6'1" 244
68 Cleveland Browns - OT Mitchell Schwartz - California - 6'5" 318
100 Cleveland Browns - QB Brock Osweiler - Arizona State - 6'7" 242
118 Cleveland Browns - DE Jonathan Massaquoi - Troy - 6'2" 264
131 Cleveland Browns - CB De'Quan Menzie - Alabama - 5'11" 202
164 Cleveland Browns - DT DaJohn Harris - Southern California - 6'3" 306
195 Cleveland Browns - OG Marcel Jones - Nebraska - 6'6" 320
Why Cleveland goes this route:
After the big trade, the Browns will likely not be in the market for a game changing Quarterback for another year. They take the most recent running back who will have a top five impact in the draft with Trent Richardson. Richardson will add another element to the Browns offense and could really transform that offense. Kendall Wright is a wide receiver who could come in and play the speed role to Greg Little's possession role. Zach Brown would instantly start at the WLB spot and move Gocong to a more natural SLB role. Mitchell Schwartz would be a mauling-type right tackle who would compete with Pashos for the starting role. Osweiler would compete right away with Wallace and Lewis for the top backup role on the Browns. Massaquoi adds true right end to compliment Sheard and Taylor on passing downs. Menzie is good depth behind Brown and Haden for corner. Harris is a pass rushing defensive tackle and would come in and compete for playing time in the defensive tackle rotation. Marcel Jones is a possible impact guard who played tackle in college.
Dallas Cowboys
16 of 39Team Needs:
Cornerback, center, guard, safety, inside linebacker, defensive end, outside linebacker depth, quarterback depth and nose tackle depth.
The picks:
14 Dallas Cowboys - OG David DeCastro - Stanford - 6'5" 316
45 Dallas Cowboys - C Peter Konz - Wisconsin - 6'5" 314
82 Dallas Cowboys - DL Jared Crick - Nebraska - 6'4" 279
113 Dallas Cowboys - CB Josh Norman - Coastal Carolina - 6'0" 197
144 Dallas Cowboys - RB Chris Polk - Washington - 5'11" 215
175 Dallas Cowboys - S Justin Bethel - Presbyterian - 6'0" 200
206 Dallas Cowboys - QB Austin Davis - Southern Mississippi - 6'2" 219
Why Dallas goes this route:
Bill Nagy, Phil Costa and Kyle Kosier were one of the worst interior offensive line trios in the league last year. DeCastro and Konz instantly upgrade the offensive line in both the pass and the run game and would make the Cowboys offense dangerous almost instantly. Jared Crick is a steal in the third as a edge setting defensive end in the 3-4 that Rob Ryan runs. Norman could compete instantly at the cornerback spot. Polk is depth at running back behind Jones and Murray which would be an improvement over who they have. Bethel could come in and compete at either corner or safety and would allow the Cowboys to have a competent SS for once. Davis could compete for a roster spot at quarterback with Kitna retiring.
Denver Broncos
17 of 39Team Needs:
Cornerback, center, defensive tackle, wide receiver, inside linebacker, guard depth, running back depth, strong safety depth, quarterback depth and kicker.
The picks:
25 Denver Broncos - DT Devon Still - Pennsylvania State - 6'5" 303
57 Denver Broncos - CB Trumaine Johnson - Montana - 6'2" 204
88 Denver Broncos - ILB Mychal Kendricks - California - 5'11" 239
120 Denver Broncos - RB Isaiah Pead - Cincinnati - 5'10" 197
129 Denver Broncos - WR Jarius Wright - Arkansas - 5'10" 182
152 Denver Broncos - C David Molk - Michigan - 6'1" 298
216 Denver Broncos - WR Rishard Matthews - Nevada - 6'0" 217
Why Denver goes this route:
Devon Still will upgrade Kevin Vickerson at the under tackle spot in the defense with a true playmaking penetrator. Trumaine Johnson will be able to compete with Andre Goodman for the starting role across from Champ Bailey. Mychal Kendricks could start for the Broncos at the WLB spot until Williams comes back from suspension and then would compete with Irving for playing time. Pead is a speed compliment for Moreno and McGahee. Molk is good competition for Walton and at worst will be good depth at multiple spots. Wright and Matthews upgrade the WR depth behind Decker and Thomas.
Detroit Lions
18 of 39Team Needs:
Left tackle, cornerback, safety, defensive end, future center, linebacker, offensive tackle depth, running Back depth, quarterback depth, tight end depth, wide receiver depth and punter.
The picks:
23 Detroit Lions - OT Mike Adams - Ohio State - 6'7" 323
54 Detroit Lions - ILB Bobby Wagner - Utah State - 6'1" 232
86 Detroit Lions - CB Jamell Fleming - Oklahoma - 5'11" 206
117 Detroit Lions - C Phillip Blake - Baylor - 6'2" 311
150 Detroit Lions - RB Bernard Pierce - Temple - 6'0" 218
181 Detroit Lions - P Bryan Anger - California - 6'4" 208
214 Detroit Lions - QB Kellen Moore - Boise State - 6'0" 197
Why Detroit goes this route:
Mike Adams is a true left tackle who could protect Stafford for a long time and be a true upgrade over the aging Jeff Backus. Bobby Wagner would start if the Lions decide to get rid of either Levy or Tulloch. Fleming would be an improvement in the man-cover schemes over Eric Wright. Phillip Blake should be a good fit as someone to learn from Raiola for a year or two and then take over as a starter. Pierce is solid all-around depth behind LeShoure and Best at the RB spot. Bryan Anger will be able to help the Lions with better field position in 2012. Kellen Moore is an upgrade over Hill and Stanton at backup QB due to his experience winning games for four years despite being a smaller QB.
Green Bay Packers
19 of 39Team Needs:
Outside linebacker, safety, defensive end, cornerback, center, running back, tight end depth, offensive guard depth and offensive tackle depth
The picks:
28 Green Bay Packers - OLB Nick Perry - Southern California - 6'3" 271
60 Green Bay Packers - DE Billy Winn - Boise State - 6'4" 294
91 Green Bay Packers - S Antonio Allen - South Carolina - 6'2" 210
123 Green Bay Packers - CB Coryell Judie - Texas A&M - 6'0" 194
155 Green Bay Packers - RB Ronnie Hillman - Utah State - 5'9" 200
187 Green Bay Packers - TE Kevin Koger - Michigan - 6'4" 258
219 Green Bay Packers - C Garth Gerhart - Arizona State - 6'1" 305
Why Green Bay goes this route:
Nick Perry will be a great fit for the pass-rusher slot across from Clay Matthews III and create a dynamic set of linebackers for the Packers. Winn will provide additional pass rush on the weak-side at the DE spot as he can also play defensive tackle in 4 lineman sets. Allen will provide competition to Burnett and Collins, while Judie is a tall play-making corner who would compete for playing time with Sam Shields and Jarrett Bush. Hillman is a legitimate threat as a zone blocking running back and Koger can be a good option behind Jermichael Finley and would be able to compete for playing time. Gerhart is a strong center in the same mold as Scott Wells.
Houston Texans
20 of 39Team Needs:
Wide receiver/wide receiver depth, offensive guard/offensive guard depth, center, nose tackle, safety depth, cornerback depth, inside linebacker, kicker and punter.
The picks:
26 Houston Texans - WR Rueben Randle - Louisiana State - 6'3" 210
58 Houston Texans - OL Amini Silatolu - Midwestern St - 6'4" 311
89 Houston Texans - DT Mike Martin - Michigan - 6'1" 306
121 Houston Texans - WR Joe Adams - Arkansas - 5'11" 179
153 Houston Texans - S Tramain Thomas - Arkansas - 6'0" 204
185 Houston Texans - OG Desmond Wynn - Rutgers - 6'6" 303
217 Houston Texans - CB Charles Brown - North Carolina - 5'9" 202
Why Houston goes this route:
Randle is a guy that I had to move up after watching more film of him. He's a guy who will fit in well with Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter. Silatolu is a good fit as someone who can play RG or RT. Mike Martin is someone who can play the 1-tech NT that Wade Phillips loves. Adams is a speed compliment to the WR corps. Thomas is a good depth player who would compete with Barber, Keo and Nolan for a role on the team. Desmond Wynn is another player who could make a difference at either RG or RT despite a low pick. Charles Brown would add depth to the CB corps.
Indianapolis Colts
21 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, offensive guard, center, cornerback/cornerback depth, nose tackle, wide receiver/wide receiver depth, strong safety, tight end depth, defensive end, outside linebacker and running back.
The picks:
1 Indianapolis Colts - QB Andrew Luck - Stanford - 6'4" 234
34 Indianapolis Colts - OG Kevin Zeitler - Wisconsin - 6'4" 314
65 Indianapolis Colts - NT Josh Chapman - Alabama - 6'1" 316
97 Indianapolis Colts - WR Nick Toon - Wisconsin - 6'2" 215
128 Indianapolis Colts - OT Matt Reynolds - Brigham Young - 6'5" 302
161 Indianapolis Colts - CB Mike Harris - Florida State - 5'10" 188
192 Indianapolis Colts - RB Chris Rainey - Florida - 5'9" 180
Why Indianapolis goes this route:
Andrew Luck signifies the new chapter in the Colts history books by being drafted as the "Franchise King" in Indianapolis. Kevin Zeitler gives the Colts a legitimate candidate for the left guard spot next to Castonzo. Chapman would give the Colts the most underrated talent at the nose tackle spot in this year's draft. Toon is a WR candidate who could become a No. 1 receiver in the NFL. Reynolds is someone who could compete right away at either the RT or the RG spot depending on how the new staff views Ijalana. Mike Harris would be someone to compete at the corner spot and Rainey is an excellent speed back to compliment Brown and Carter.
Jacksonville Jaguars
22 of 39Team Needs:
Wide receiver, cornerback/cornerback depth, defensive end, safety, tight end, quarterback, offensive tackle, center, linebacker and punter.
The picks:
7 Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Quinton Coples - North Carolina - 6'6" 284
38 Jacksonville Jaguars - CB Alfonzo Dennard - Nebraska - 5'10" 204
71 Jacksonville Jaguars - TE Orson Charles - Georgia - 6'3" 251
101 Jacksonville Jaguars - WR Greg Childs - Arkansas - 6'3" 219
134 Jacksonville Jaguars - S Aaron Henry - Wisconsin - 6'0" 210
165 Jacksonville Jaguars - CB Keith Tandy - West Virginia - 5'10" 202
198 Jacksonville Jaguars - ILB Max Gruder - Pittsburgh - 6'2" 230
Why Jacksonville goes this route:
Quinton Coples can play in the 3-4 or the 4-3, and with the Jaguars looking to play a varied front in both 3-4 and 4-3, he would be a good pick. Alfonzo Dennard gives the Jaguars someone to play across from Rashean Mathis. Charles will give a Hernandez type H-back option for Mularkey to use. Childs is a big WR who would be a good fit for the No. 1 WR role in the offense. Aaron Hendy will compete for a starting spot at free safety and Tandy will provide good depth behind Mathis, Dennard and Cox. Max Gruder will provide good depth in the Jacksonville defense.
Kansas City Chiefs
23 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, right tackle, nose tackle, cornerback, offensive guard, tight end, running back depth, outside linebacker depth, center, and inside linebacker depth.
The picks:
11 Kansas City Chiefs - QB Ryan Tannehill - Texas A&M - 6'4" 221
44 Kansas City Chiefs - TE Dwayne Allen - Clemson - 6'3" 255
75 Kansas City Chiefs - NT Alameda Ta'amu - Washington - 6'3" 348
107 Kansas City Chiefs - RT Jeff Allen - Illinois - 6'4" 307
138 Kansas City Chiefs - CB Donnie Fletcher - Boston College - 6'1" 195
171 Kansas City Chiefs - RB Cyrus Gray - Texas A&M - 5'10" 206
202 Kansas City Chiefs - OLB Jacquies Smith - Missouri - 6'3" 253
222 Kansas City Chiefs - ILB Najee Good - West Virginia - 6'0" 244
Why Kansas City goes this route:
Someone is going to reach for Tannehill and Kansas City is the one team that makes sense to do so. Allen would provide a great compliment to Moeaki at the TE spot. Alameda Ta'amu will fit in well at the nose tackle spot in Crennel's defense. Jeff Allen will compete at the RT spot in 2012 and Fletcher would fit in well at the nickel or dime corner role. Gray will provide more of a power compliment behind the speed combo of Mccluster and Charles. Jacquies Smith is a depth pick as a pass-rushing OLB and Good can compete with Greenwood for a depth spot at ILB.
Miami Dolphins
24 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, right tackle, outside linebacker, nose tackle, offensive guard, safety depth, cornerback depth, tight end depth, defensive end depth and inside linebacker depth.
The picks:
8 Miami Dolphins - OLB Melvin Ingram - South Carolina - 6'2" 264
42 Miami Dolphins - QB Brandon Weeden - Oklahoma State - 6'4" 221
73 Miami Dolphins - OT Matt McCants - Alabama - Birmingham - 6'6" 308
103 Miami Dolphins - TE Ladarius Green - Louisiana - LaFayette - 6'6" 237
137 Miami Dolphins - S Brandon Taylor - Louisiana State - 5'11" 209
186 Miami Dolphins - NT Akiem Hicks - Regina - 6'5" 318
199 Miami Dolphins - DE Jack Crawford - Pennsylvania State - 6'5" 274
Why Miami goes this route:
Melvin Ingram would provide a scary pass-rusher across the formation from Koa Misi. Brandon Weeden provides a quarterback who could start right away. McCants can come right in and start at the RT spot. Green would fit well as a pass-catching TE in the Jermichael Finley mold. Brandon Taylor would provide great depth behind Bell and Jones at safety. Akiem Hicks will be a good fit for the 3-4 NT spot in Miami and Crawford fits well scheme-wise as a 3-4 DE.
Minnesota Vikings
25 of 39Team Needs:
Left tackle, cornerback, wide receiver, safety, offensive guard, linebacker/linebacker depth, defensive tackle, fullback depth and running back depth.
The picks:
3 Minnesota Vikings - OT Matt Kalil - Southern California - 6'7" 306
35 Minnesota Vikings - CB Janoris Jenkins - North Alabama - 5'10" 193
67 Minnesota Vikings - OG James Brown - Troy - 6'3" 306
98 Minnesota Vikings - S Janzen Jackson - Mcneese St - 6'0" 188
130 Minnesota Vikings - WR Jeff Fuller - Texas A&M - 6'4" 223
162 Minnesota Vikings - LB Emmanuel Acho - Texas - 6'2" 238
194 Minnesota Vikings - OLB Tyler Nielsen - Iowa - 6'3" 237
207 Minnesota Vikings - RB Davin Meggett - Maryland - 5'8" 211
Why Minnesota goes this route:
Matt Kalil is an instant upgrade at the LT spot for the Vikings. Jenkins will be an upgrade at the CB spot but he might be too prone to join the party boats with Winfield. Brown will be able to take over at Guard for the just released Steve Hutchinson. Jackson is a true FS who should be able to compete for a starting role this year. Fuller is a big-bodied WR who will compete for playing time with Stephen Burton. Acho at worst will be a solid backup MLB and at best could end up starting in the middle of the defense. Nielsen is another depth/possible starter but this time at the WLB spot. Davin Meggett is someone who would compete for the 3rd RB role with Booker, King and Todman.
New England Patriots
26 of 39Team Needs:
Outside linebacker/outside linebacker depth, wide receiver/wide receiver depth, defensive end, safety, cornerback depth, center depth, running back depth and linebacker depth.
The picks:
27 New England Patriots - WR Stephen Hill - Georgia Tech - 6'4" 215
31 New England Patriots - DL Kendall Reyes - Connecticut - 6'4" 299
48 New England Patriots - OLB Ronnell Lewis - Oklahoma - 6'2" 253
63 New England Patriots - S George Iloka - Boise State - 6'4" 225
94 New England Patriots - C Michael Brewster - Ohio State - 6'4" 312
126 New England Patriots - CB Ryan Steed - Furman - 5'11" 195
Why New England goes this route:
Deion Branch is a free agent and Ochocinco has been disappointing. Hill could come in right away and be an instant starter for the Patriots while having the perfect coaching for his development. Kendall Reyes can compete for playing time at either the DT spot or a DE spot depending on the formation. Ronnell Lewis would be great depth at 3-4 or 4-3 at SLB. Iloka should compete at the SS or FS spot for a starting role and would be an improvement over who they have. Brewster is someone who could start fresh out the gate and be an upgrade over Connolly for depth if they re-sign Koppen. Steed will compete for playing time at corner with Arrington and Moore.
New Orleans Saints
27 of 39Team Needs:
Outside linebacker/outside linebacker depth, defensive tackle, wide receiver/wide receiver depth, offensive guard, safety depth, offensive line depth, and defensive end depth
The picks:
59 New Orleans Saints - DT Brandon Thompson - Clemson - 6'2" 314
90 New Orleans Saints - OLB Demario Davis - Arkansas State - 6'2" 235
122 New Orleans Saints - WR Devon Wylie - Fresno State - 5'9" 187
154 New Orleans Saints - S Eddie Pleasant - Oregon - 5'10" 211
166 New Orleans Saints - OG Rishaw Johnson - California (PA) - 6'3" 313
168 New Orleans Saints - OL Ryan Miller - Colorado - 6'8" 295
218 New Orleans Saints - OLB Danny Trevathan - Kentucky - 6'0" 237
Why New Orleans goes this route:
Brandon Thompson would give the Saints the 1-tech nose tackle they haven't had with Ellis there and would start right away. Demario Davis gives the Saints competition at the SLB spot long term. Wylie is a Lance Moore-type who could end up playing in the slot right away. Pleasant would be excellent depth behind Harper and Jenkins. Johnson could compete for a starting spot should Nicks leave. Miller would be a good depth fit for multiple positions on the OL. Trevathan will be good depth at the LB spot.
New York Giants
28 of 39Team Needs:
Left guard, tight end, middle linebacker, offensive tackle, running back, safety depth, cornerback depth, defensive tackle depth, quarterback depth and punter.
The picks:
32 New York Giants - TE Coby Fleener - Stanford - 6'6" 247
64 New York Giants - RB Doug Martin - Boise State - 5'9" 223
95 New York Giants - OL Senio Kelemete - Washington - 6'4" 307
127 New York Giants - ILB James-Michael Johnson - Nevada - 6'1" 241
159 New York Giants - OT Andrew Datko - Florida State - 6'6" 315
191 New York Giants - S Kelcie McCray - Arkansas State - 6'2" 202
223 New York Giants - CB Coty Sensabaugh - Clemson - 5'11" 189
Why the Giants go this route:
Fleener will come in and start at the TE spot. Martin would compete for a role on the team in the absence of Brandon Jacobs at RB. Kelemete is a player who will learn from Diehl for a year or two and then take over at the LG spot. Johnson is a leader at MLB who could be an upgrade for the Giants at MLB. Datko can play RT from the start and would compete with Brewer for the starting spot. Kelcie McCray would provide good depth at the S spot behind the starting pair of Rolle and Phillips. Sensabaugh is a speedy corner who would compete right away for the nickel role behind Ross and Blackmon.
New York Jets
29 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, wide receiver/wide receiver depth, right tackle, outside linebacker, safety/safety depth, nose tackle, kicker, inside linebacker depth, tight end depth and offensive line depth.
The picks:
16 New York Jets - OLB Courtney Upshaw - Alabama - 6'2" 272
47 New York Jets - WR Chris Givens - Wake Forest - 5'11" 198
78 New York Jets - S Markelle Martin - Oklahoma State - 6'1" 207
108 New York Jets - OT Nate Potter - Boise State - 6'6" 303
146 New York Jets - LB Travis Lewis - Oklahoma - 6'1" 246
177 New York Jets - QB B.J. Coleman - UT-Chattanooga - 6'3" 233
208 New York Jets - WR T.Y. Hilton - Florida International - 5'9" 183
Why the Jets go this route:
Courtney Upshaw is the best pure 3-4 OLB in the draft and would make Rex Ryan a happy man. Givens and Hilton are WR's who could come in and compete for playing time with Kerley and Turner. Martin would be an upgrade over Leonhard at the FS spot. Lewis could compete for the role that Bart Scott would vacate. Coleman is a good fit for depth behind the "Sanchise".
Oakland Raiders
30 of 39Team Needs:
Nose tackle, outside linebacker, offensive line/offensive line depth, cornerback/cornerback depth, right tackle, safety, inside linebacker, defensive end and running back.
The picks:
140 Oakland Raiders - LB Audie Cole - North Carolina State - 6'4" 246
178 Oakland Raiders - OLB Brandon Lindsey - Pittsburgh - 6'2" 254
Why Oakland goes this route:
With the move to the 3-4, Brandon Lindsey makes the most sense as a blitzing OLB for the Raiders, while Cole could come right in and play right next to McClain as the starting MLB pairing.
Philadelphia Eagles
31 of 39Team Needs:
Linebacker/linebacker depth, wide receiver, defensive tackle, safety, cornerback depth, offensive line depth, quarterback depth, running back depth, tight end and punter.
The picks:
15 Philadelphia Eagles - WR Michael Floyd - Notre Dame - 6'3" 220
46 Philadelphia Eagles - MLB Dont'a Hightower - Alabama - 6'2" 265
51 Philadelphia Eagles - S Harrison Smith - Notre Dame - 6'2" 213
77 Philadelphia Eagles - CB Chase Minnifield - Virginia - 5'10" 183
99 Philadelphia Eagles - DL Kheeston Randall - Texas - 6'5" 293
114 Philadelphia Eagles - QB Nick Foles - Arizona - 6'5" 243
145 Philadelphia Eagles - OLB Terrell Manning - North Carolina State - 6'2" 237
176 Philadelphia Eagles - RB Tauren Poole - Tennessee - 5'10" 205
184 Philadelphia Eagles - OT Donald Stephenson - Oklahoma - 6'6" 312
190 Philadelphia Eagles - TE Evan Rodriguez - Temple - 6'2" 242
Why Philadelphia goes this route:
The Eagles just don't have that big target for Vick to throw to and Floyd would provide that to him. Hightower would be the big MLB in the middle who could play the old Jeremiah Trotter role. Smith and Minnifield would give depth at the S and CB position. Randall is a DT who could rotate with Patterson and Jenkins at DT. Foles is an excellent QB who would make a great backup in Reid's scheme. Manning could take over the SLB role from Akeem Jordan. Poole would provide a better third option at RB than Cooper. Stephenson would allow Herremans to move back to his more natural LG spot. Rodriguez could be a compliment to Harbor and Celek, while also playing some fullback.
Pittsburgh Steelers
32 of 39Team Needs:
Left tackle, left guard, nose tackle, cornerback, inside linebacker, running back, wide receiver, tight end depth and punter.
The picks:
24 Pittsburgh Steelers - NT Michael Brockers - Lousiana State - 6'5" 322
56 Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Dwight Bentley - Lousiana-LaFayette - 5'10" 182
87 Pittsburgh Steelers - OT Brandon Mosely - Auburn - 6'6" 314
119 Pittsburgh Steelers - OL Quenton Saulsberry - Mississippi State - 6'2" 304
151 Pittsburgh Steelers - RB Robert Turbin - Utah State - 5'10" 222
183 Pittsburgh Steelers - LB Tank Carder - Texas Christian - 6'2" 236
215 Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Ron Brooks - Louisiana State - 5'10" 190
Why Pittsburgh goes this route:
With Casey Hampton on his last leg, it makes sense to bring in a Nose Tackle who could be the next anchor for another 10-11 years. Bentley and Brooks could end up as starters in Pittsburgh eventually. Mosely is a true right tackle who could start right away and force Colon to his more natural RG spot. Quenton Saulsberry can come in and compete at the LG spot right away. Turbin is a big back who could be a good fit as a reserve behind Mendenhall and Redman. Carder could be the ILB who would replace Farrior in the long term.
San Diego Chargers
33 of 39Team Needs:
Outside linebacker, cornerback, offensive tackle, offensive guard, safety, wide receiver, center, running back depth and defensive end depth.
The picks:
18 San Diego Chargers - OT Jonathan Martin - Stanford - 6'5" 304

79 San Diego Chargers - OLB Vinny Curry - Marshall - 6'2" 266
110 San Diego Chargers - CB Casey Hayward - Vanderbilt - 5'11" 185
141 San Diego Chargers - OG Josh LeRibeus - Southern Methodist - 6'3" 312
172 San Diego Chargers - DE Malik Jackson - Tennessee - 6'5" 284
210 San Diego Chargers - S Matt Daniels - Duke - 6'1" 210
Why San Diego goes this route:
Marcus McNeill is likely to be cut for contract issues and until they re-sign Gaither, there is still a shot for them to lose him in free agency. Martin would be a franchise-caliber LT to protect Rivers long term. David Wilson looks to be the best player available and should provide an excellent 1-2 punch with Mathews. Curry is an OLB who would be able to compete as depth to the OLB spot and possibly even win a starting spot. Casey Hayward is a Grimes-style corner who could end up winning a starting job long term. LeRibeus is someone who would add depth behind Green and Vasquez at OG. Jackson will compete from the rip for a spot at DE. Daniels should add depth at Safety and could even end up starting eventually.
San Francisco 49ers
34 of 39Team Needs:
Wide receiver/wide receiver depth, right guard, quarterback, safety, offensive tackle depth, cornerback, defensive end and running back depth.
The picks:
30 San Francisco 49ers - S Mark Barron - Alabama - 6'1" 213

93 San Francisco 49ers - CB Josh Robinson - Central Florida - 5'10" 199
125 San Francisco 49ers - DL Derek Wolfe - Cincinnati - 6'5" 295
157 San Francisco 49ers - WR A.J. Jenkins - Illinois - 6'0" 190
189 San Francisco 49ers - NT Nicholas Jean-Baptiste - Baylor - 6'2" 335
221 San Francisco 49ers - OL Dustin Waldron - Portland State - 6'5" 305
Why San Francisco goes this route:
Mark Barron is a safety who would instantly impact in big nickel packages and eventually compete for a starting role with Goldson. Sanu and Jenkins are receivers who would upgrade the depth for the 49ers behind starters Moss and Crabtree. Robinson is a speed corner who would instantly be an upgrade at the nickel spot. Derek Wolfe would provide depth behind McDonald and Smith at the DE spot. Jean-Baptiste is a good fit for depth behind Sopoaga and Waldron is an OL who could backup 3-4 spots on the offensive line.

209 Seattle Seahawks - DE Donte Paige-Moss - North Carolina - 6'3" 268
Why Seattle goes this route:
Fletcher Cox gives them a true all around defensive lineman. He can lineup at either DE or DT and Worthy would provide depth behind Branch and Mebane. Cousins is a true QB who could eventually start. Brooks would be an upgrade over Gallery eventually at left guard. Burfict could be the new starting MLB if he gets his head together. Pellerin can be good depth at CB and S. Ganaway is a power back who can also play the FB role in the offense for Carrol. Paige-Moss is a good pass rusher for depth at DE.
St. Louis Rams
36 of 39Team Needs:
Offensive tackle, offensive line, wide receiver/wide receiver depth, outside linebacker/outside linebacker depth, free safety, cornerback, defensive tackle, center, future running back and fullback.
The picks:
6 St. Louis Rams - WR Justin Blackmon - Oklahoma State - 6'1" 207
33 St. Louis Rams - RT Kelechi Osemele - Iowa State - 6'6" 333
39 St. Louis Rams - OLB Lavonte David - Nebraska - 6'1" 233
66 St. Louis Rams - WR Brian Quick - Appalachian State - 6'4" 220
96 St. Louis Rams - CB Omar Bolden - Arizona State - 5'10" 202

193 St. Louis Rams - RB Vick Ballard - Mississippi St - 5'10" 219
Why St. Louis goes this route:
Blackmon would be an instant upgrade as the starting WR for the Rams and give Bradford the No. 1 WR he needs to succeed. Osemele is a true RT who could provide a Clabo-type power RT for the Rams and allow Smith to move to a more natural LG spot. David is a speedy player and could be used a lot as a coverage and blitz master in Williams' defense. Quick is a big target for Bradford to compliment Amendola, Blackmon and Gibson. Bolden will provide solid depth and competition at corner. Forston is a steal in the 6th and could start in the UT role for the Rams. Ballard is a starting-caliber RB who will learn to play from the best in Stephen Jackson.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
37 of 39Team Needs:
Cornerback/cornerback depth, linebacker/linebacker depth, right tackle, wide receiver, center, running back, left guard, fullback, defensive tackle depth and quarterback depth
The picks:
5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - CB Morris Claiborne - Louisiana State - 5'11" 188
36 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - WR Alshon Jeffery - South Carolina - 6'3" 216
69 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - OLB Sean Spence - Miami - 5'11" 231
132 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - RB LaMichael James - Oregon - 5'8" 194
163 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - ILB Jerry Franklin - Arkansas - 6'1" 245
196 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - OT Levy Adcock - Oklahoma State - 6'6" 322
Why Tampa Bay goes this route:
The Buccaneers need a corner to take over long term for Ronde Barber. Claiborne is a dominant corner from an LSU program that was in the National Title game this year. Jeffery is a big WR who will compliment Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn as a WR who can actually catch. Spence is someone who will compete for a starting spot right away. James will join former teammate Blount as a speed back to compliment his power. Franklin is a MLB who will be depth behind Foster. Adcock can come in and be excellent depth at both OT spots in the NFL.
Tennessee Titans
38 of 39Team Needs:
Center, offensive guard/offensive guard depth, defensive end, safety/safety depth, defensive tackle depth, outside linebacker depth, cornerback depth, wide receiver depth and running back depth.
The picks:
20 Tennessee Titans - DE Whitney Mercilus - Illinois - 6'4" 261
52 Tennessee Titans - C Ben Jones - Georgia - 6'3" 303
83 Tennessee Titans - OLB Josh Kaddu - Oregon - 6'3" 239
115 Tennessee Titans - OG Lucas Nix - Pittsburgh - 6'5" 317

179 Tennessee Titans - S Duke Ihenacho - San Diego State - 6'0" 213
211 Tennessee Titans - CB Cliff Harris - Oregon - 5'11" 175
Why Tennessee goes this route:
Mercilus will come in and be an upgrade at the RDE spot for the Titans across from Derrick Morgan. Ben Jones and Nix can come in and upgrade the C and LG spots instantly. Kaddu would be able to provide good depth for the OLB spots and as a nickel linebacker. McNutt provides depth behind Washington, Britt and Williams as a bigger receiver. Ihenacho could compete for a starting spot at SS in 2012 and Harris provides excellent corner depth behind McCourty and Verner.
Washington Redskins
39 of 39Team Needs:
Quarterback, wide receiver, offensive guard, inside linebacker, offensive tackle depth, cornerback, nose tackle, tight end depth, center, safety and outside linebacker depth.
The picks:
2 Washington Redskins - QB Robert Griffin III - Baylor - 6'2" 223
70 Washington Redskins - LB Bruce Irvin - West Virginia - 6'3" 245
102 Washington Redskins - OL Tony Bergstrom - Utah - 6'5" 313
109 Washington Redskins - WR Dwight Jones - North Carolina - 6'3" 230
133 Washington Redskins - NT Loni Fangupo - Brigham Young - 6'5" 323
197 Washington Redskins - OLB Olivier Vernon - Miami - 6'2" 261
Why Washington goes this route:
Now the Redskins won't have a backup QB starting for them. Robert Grifffin III will bring a Michael Vick effect to that franchise where you will see a lot of people start to want to play for the 'skins because of them having an effective QB. Irvin is a LB who can play all over the formation in the 3-4 but would be the ideal candidate to learn from Fletcher for a year. Bergstrom is depth at both OG and OT spots and could possibly compete for the starting RT spot. Jones is a big bodied WR to compliment the smaller Moss and Gaffney at WR. Fangupo is a true nose guard who would be able to big body his way into the starting lineup. And Vernon is a "best player available" situation who would provide yet another pass rusher to the already scary combination of Orakpo, Kerrigan and in this situation, Bruce Irvin.
