WWE Rumors: Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Shaquille O'Neal and Thursday's WWE News

Adam WellsMar 8, 2012

Vince McMahon is riding high right now. With WWE building all sorts of momentum heading into WrestleMania, it seems there is nothing that can slow the train down. Of course, that concert battle between Rock and John Cena could be where everything falls apart.

The feud was working so well without any lame gimmicks. Both guys are so strong on the microphone that you can make a case for it to be good as far as building the match. We shall see where they go.

All that is for the future. What you care about is the here and now, so we have the latest backstage happenings for you to ease into your day.

SHAWN MICHAELS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST REFEREE EVER

Even though the reaction I have heard is primarily mixed, Shawn Michaels is doing his best to convince the world he will be a good referee in the Triple H-Undertaker match at WrestleMania. He did an interview with WWE.com saying he will be fair and impartial.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Shawn wear the biker shorts that he did at Judgment Day 2000?

Our Take: Considering WWE's switch to a PG format and Michaels' old age, I don't think that anyone wants to see it. But never put anything past Michaels.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Zebras

The Michaels dynamic in this match can easily work, they just have to address it next week when The Undertaker returns to make this muddled mess make more sense.

CURTIS GRANDERSON HATES JOHN CENA

That may be a slight exaggeration, but the New York Yankees star and avid wrestling fan did predict that The Rock would walk out of WrestleMania victorious. Maybe WWE should get Granderson to make an appearance since the deal with Shaq looks bleak.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Granderson right?

Our Take: Despite the time-honored tradition of the older star passing the torch to the newer star, it does seem like there would be a huge drawback to having Rock lose in Miami. In the scheme of things it might not matter, but in a vacuum that could make some fans very unhappy.

Unlike most celebrities WWE tries to interview, who clearly know little about the current product, Granderson is making an educated prediction.

BIG SHOW OFFERS TO GIVE SHAQ A WRESTLING LESSON

Unless there is an 11th-hour switch, it would appear that rumored Big Show-Shaquille O'Neal match at WrestleMania is no mas. That isn't stopping Big Show from doing interviews where it sounds like he is challenging the former NBA superstar.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Shaq going to get involved in Big Show's match?

Our Take: It seems odd that all this talk would have happened before the show only to have WWE not go through with it. Shaq is familiar with Miami, likes wrestling and doesn't have a lot of other things going on. Why not have him show up in some capacity?

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 WrestleMania Celebrities

If WWE were to do something with Shaq at WrestleMania, it better be advertised soon. It would be illogical to have him make a surprise appearance, thereby wasting any potential media exposure and late buys from viewers who were skeptical about the show.

KHARMA'S SAD SITUATION

While we like to keep things light-hearted for the most part, there are times when real life intervenes and you really don't know what to say. Everyone knows that Kharma took time off last year when she found out she was pregnant. She told everyone that she had the baby on New Year's Eve, but reports have come out that she actually lost the child.

It's not appropriate to do the usual shtick that we do in this article to ask about a "Question on Everybody's Mind" or anything like that. It was just a situation that involved a WWE star, and we wanted to bring it to your attention if you hadn't heard.

Obviously, our thoughts are with Kharma (Kia Stevens) at this time. She said in the TMZ report that she would like to start a foundation for women that have had similar problems.
