Recasting the 'Avengers' Film with WWE Superstars

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 4, 2018

The Avengers is shaping up to be one of the biggest movies of 2012. The star studded cast are all returning from previous super hero movies they have appeared in with the exception of Mark Ruffalo who is playing Hulk.

A couple of times in the past I have taken a popular franchise and recast it with WWE superstars.

The Avengers works even better than most because so many of the WWE superstars already personify the personalities of these heroes.

I tried my best to come up with the best possible comparisons, so sit back and enjoy recasting The Avengers with WWE superstars.

Triple H Is Thor

1 of 8

This is an obvious comparison. Triple H is pretty much the Thor of WWE already given he has the long blond hair, sledgehammer and wears a crown sometimes.

The DVD cover for Triple H's compilation even makes him look like Thor with the crown and skull imagery. The only thing missing is his trusty sledge hammer.

With rumors having circulated that Triple H was on the shortlist of people who could play Thor I thought this was the perfect comparison.

John Cena Is Captain America

2 of 8

John Cena may be called Superman by some people, but he is more akin to Cap in my opinion.

They both stand for good and are die hard United States patriots. Cena has even donned military themed attire numerous times and has been a major player in the Tribute to the Troops shows.

Cena has the build, haircut and personality to be compared to Cap and have people get the comparison.

Mysterio may have worn Captain America themed gear once, but Cena is the only Captain WWE has.

CM Punk Is Ironman

3 of 8

With the exception of Ironman being a notorious alcoholic, CM Punk and Tony Stark have a lot in common.

They are both usually sporting facial hair with black slicked back hair, they both make wisecracks every chance they get and neither one likes to answer to authority.

Ironman may have been the funniest of these superheroes in his own films and Punk is one of the funnier guys in WWE when it comes to his promos.

If Tony Stark were straight edge and covered in tattoos then he and Punk would be two peas in an armor suit.

Mark Henry Is the Hulk

4 of 8

I was toying with the idea of having either Big Show or Brodus Clay be Hulk in this slideshow, but Mark Henry just fits better.

Henry is someone who is feared by many, especially when he gets angry, and you don't want to see Mark Henry when he is angry.

If Mark Henry fell in a vat of green paint and came out yelling people may actually think The Hulk had come to life.

Eve Is Black Widow

5 of 8

Black Widow may not be a villain like Eve Torres, but the name Black Widow generally implies something evil and no Diva better personifies evil right now than Eve.

Her conniving ways have elevated her from Hoeski to Executive Administrator for John Laurinaitis and her attitude seems to imply that she is looking to keep climbing the corporate ladder.

Black Widow is talented and charismatic, which are two qualities Eve also possesses, so it seems like a perfect fit.

At first I thought Aksana might make a good Black Widow, but Eve just seemed to fit the bill better.

Randy Orton Is Hawkeye

6 of 8

This comparison may not seem all that logical at first but I think I can make it work.

Both men are known for their intense focus and ability to strike at a moment's notice. Both men have a military background, although Orton's record is not as glowing as Hawkeye's.

The pin point accuracy of Hawkeye matches up well with the icy stare of the Viper and the fact that the RKO and an archer's arrow can both strike in less than a second makes them a great comparison.

John Laurinaitis Is Loki

7 of 8

When I think of Loki I think of some one who is devious, easily hated and narcissistic. Who better to personify the evil lord of Asgard than Johnny Ace?

Laurinaitis is WWE's resident jackass who is basically there to be the heel executive, but in the last few months he has been so much more.

He has been the evil force behind Brock Lesnar's return and his management decisions make you want to hit him in the face with something made of cast iron.

Loki was played to perfection by Tom Hiddleston, but John Laurinaitis personifies his evil traits very well, except the part about being an evil genius.
