NBA Trade Rumors: Steve Nash Won't Request Trade from the Phoenix Suns
Steve Nash is an eight-time All-Star and two-time MVP. He's also 38 years old and is one of the greatest players in NBA history not to win a championship.
Nonetheless, Nash apparently wants to remain with the bottom-dwelling Phoenix Suns.
Tweeted Chris Broussard of ESPN on Tuesday:
"Nothing's changed in Phoenix: Suns still not trading Steve Nash unless he asks for it, sources say. And he won't.

Of course, the Suns would have to re-sign Nash for him to remain in Phoenix. He's an unrestricted free agent after this season.
You have to believe that Nash wants to remain with the Suns. He obviously values the organization, and if he wanted to leave, he'd at least allow them to get something in return for him. Yet, interestingly enough, Nash said that if the Suns didn't pay him what he's worth after the season, they would be doing so "at their own peril," per the Arizona Republic.
I just don't understand Nash's stance. There's something to be said about remaining with the organization you hold dear, and it is an incredibly noble gesture in a time when superstars are leaving teams left and right.
But, on the other hand, what have the Suns done to gain Nash's trust? They allowed Amar'e Stoudemire to walk before last season and traded away his longtime backcourt-mate Leandro Barbosa.
Bottom line, the Suns have yet to surround Nash with the talent fit for a championship team.
Who is running with Nash these days? Jared Dudley, Channing Frye, Marcin Gortat and the aging Grant Hill. It's no wonder the Suns are 14-20.
Nash has been an admirable player throughout his career, but he's starting to become his own worst enemy. At some point, he has to do what's right for him and find a team capable of winning a championship.
