WrestleMania 28: Top 5 Superstars to Support Teddy Long
In my opinion, we are headed towards a Teddy Long vs. John Laurinaitis battle at WrestleMania. While those two may not actually compete, their jobs will seemingly be on the line.
With that, both men will have to find some supporters to represent them. I already covered Johnny Ace's team here—now, it's time to look at who Mr. Long may choose to wrestle for him at Mania!
5. Santino Marella
1 of 5He is Teddy Long's assistant, right? Replacing Zack Ryder to associate with Teddy Long was a fun move. I am not sure if WWE still has plans for that, but it is worth mentioning.
Santino needs a spot at Mania. His performance at the Elimination Chamber was excellent, and his momentum should continue.
Being in a match to determine one true general manager would be fine.
4. Booker T
2 of 5He has been a "face" since returning to the company in 2011.
If anybody would defend SmackDown, it would be Booker T. Currently, he has no story for Mania, and I wouldn't be against him finding himself inside the ring on April 1st, 2012.
For the record, I am discounting wrestlers like Rey Mysterio or Randy Orton. They are not even on the shows right now, so it is hard to include them. If any "non" wrestler enters this match, it is Booker!
3. Great Khali
3 of 5The Great Khali is officially back on the Blue Brand. Being a fan of his work, why not give the man a nice payday at Mania?
He wouldn't do much during the match, and he has never disappointed. The man does his job, has no legal issues, no problems and is very loyal.
Sounds like a guy I would want on my team! Give this future WWE Hall of Fame performer a spot on Teddy Long's team and create a fun moment.
2. Ezekiel Jackson
4 of 5I know, I know.
Ezekiel Jackson lost twice last week to David Otunga. Clean!
I understand all of that. However, Teddy Long was right there ringside with him. He does not do that with just anybody. He sure did show his support for the former intercontinental champion.
If there is any wrestler looking for a match at Mania, it is Big Zeke!
1. Drew McIntyre
5 of 5What a twist that would be!
I also included Drew McIntyre on the "heel" side, but this would create a very interesting conclusion to the current situation on Friday nights.
With Teddy Long waiting for Drew to step up his game, what better way to save his job than save Teddy's job? It would close the deal on a face turn for Mr. McIntyre, as well as give him a permanent job on SmackDown each and every week.
Either that or Drew turns on Teddy and wins the match for Johnny Ace!
In any event, I like this story heading into Mania. It will give many great wrestlers a chance to shine on the biggest stage of them all, and it will (hopefully) end the general manager's feud.
